Sweden was on the receiving end of a football lesson in the first half. Don't know what they said to each other during the halftime break but the coach should take notes for future half time speeches

Germany is still the big favourite to win the group but Sweden is off to a good start in the fight for second place playoff

For Americans: US vs. Guatemala at 7:15 EST, need a draw or we are likely out of the world cup (Jamaica will probably do well vs. Antigua & Barbuda and they need to make up 3 or 4 goal difference)
Yeah, well, you know, that's just like, your opinion man

I don't watch the WM-Premlimiaries, because its way to boring to watch all these Games vs Countries you don't even know one player. And Germany wins anyways and now I look at my favorite sportspage to see how high they won and I see they were up 4-0 and managed to end up in a tie?
Did they just stopped playing or what.

Pretty funny, but won't matter at all with these terrible teams in the grp. I hope they will change the sytem in the future. The terrible teams like ireland, farorer island and even sweden should play their own preliminaries and the winners play against the good teams like spain, holland, germany...

Also Chile vs. Argentina looks like a sick game already.

Thankfully US offense is performing today.

German national team does not cease to take football on a new level, today's edition: greatest possible hybris after greatest possible domination.
Props to Sweden for fantastic moral and some great sport.
What a match.

Can't believe Germany lost 4 goals in that game, crazy shit.
Still, Poland vs England was much better.

Germany vs Sweden was the most entertaining game of football for me in quite a while.

And I still don't understand why they didn't just close the roof in Poland.

They require 24 hours notice to close it. lol. But it's football, it's supposed to be played outside not under a roof. Guess they just didn't foresee such bad waterlogging.

Except terrible team is a totally subjective statement.
Ten years ago, France could have ended as a first seed, and nowadays, not anymore, for example. The "good teams" already have an advantage, because they can't be seeded against another good teams. If they can't win against second tier teams, it's their problem, and maybe someone else will pick their seed one day or another.

yeah I see nothing wrong with the qualification systems

Europe is too big to add in too many layers of qualifications

If theres anything that Sweden Germany game should have taught you its that everyone needs to earn qualification, wether its against terrible teams or otherwise.

Sure theres a ton of trash games, but that doesnt mean top teams just earned themselves a free ride. The system is fine.

Final Concacaf qualifying group is set now:
US
Jamaica
Mexico
Costa Rica
Honduras
Panama

Top 3 make it to world cup final, 4th plays off against Oceania (meaning New Zealand basically). Mexico looks by far the best, anything can happen between all the rest I think. Also what happened to Canada, they just needed a draw against Honduras in the last game to make it, lost 8-1.

US should be the 2nd favorite in the group but they have been pretty bad in qualifying so far, last night was their only mostly convincing game really.

Yes, but it's only a part of the oceanian wc qualification.
