There's one guy at the gym who has excellent form at everything, so I copied his core position and things went great!) Deadlift: 285lbs - 1x5 (mid-back seems like a weak link, since I don't think I'm keeping it straight) Overall a good workout for me ![]() How is it hat you can squat 295lbs but your deadlift is lower? I know I haven't been around in a while, but did you injure yourself? 95lbs press? Just curious is all. edit:/ Unless you meant 195lbs squat which would make perfect sense.

Yea I suffered a concussion in early Oct, so I've only been back at the gym for about a month. I think my DL can go a bit higher, just taking it relatively slow. Last week I did 285lbs DL 3-1-1 b/c my grip slipped, so I wanted to re-do it this week. Before my injury, my lifts were: Squat: 295 - 1x5 Front Squat: 205 - 3x5 Bench: 245 - 3x5 Press: 110 - 3x5 (I think my form just sucked ass) Deadlift: not really sure, lol So injury -> sedation -> lose upper body str first is what I'm guessing here. My historical max on squats was 330lbs 3x5 with terrible form, and 380lb deadlift 5x1. I think having played soccer for many years, then a rower for a year has disproportionately developed my lower body. My upper body sucks. Halp me! I need a better chick magnet! LOL

@85 bw 155 Deadlift 77.5 Bench Squat/cleans still doing lots of assistance and flexibility exercises so going to be a few weeks before I try to advance them at all. Also went shopping today after going to the gym so was still in a fitness mood. Nothing but veg/salad/unprocessed meat/milk. Now lets see how long I can keep it up...

is there an easily obtainable replacement for whole milk for lactose intolerant individuals? i can find lactose free milk, but i don't have easy access to a car and the stores i frequent only stock it at 2% reduced fat (at 4$ for 2 quarts wat). i can afford it, but i was wondering if there was a better (and hopefully cheaper) alternative lactose pills don't work past 2~3 cups of milk and manning up isn't an option because it hurts and i have to sit on a toilet all day

Is that the same as lactase? If not, you might try that. Otherwise you could do DEAD (Dozen Eggs A Day). I think that Gomad is slightly overrated anyways. You should be able to get enough cals etc. without the milk. Oh and maybe you just have to build up with the milk? Like 3 cups daily now, add 1 cup every 3 days or something.

I havent been doing the olympic lifts much since I have been working out at regular gyms for the past two weeks. The clean and jerks were a nice surprise. 111 felt very very light. I prob could of went close to 120. First, 6/6, very good job. Obviously I have not too much understanding of Olympic Weightlifting, but everytime I look at your videos, it looks to me like you could maybe compete in -69kg. Your frame looks like it could easily take another 5-6kilos (and since you are 65.5 in this video, that would be like 71-72kg weight in training). Obviously I don't know what I am talking about, but that's what I always think when I see your videos.

i eat a lot of eggs, but for me it's a lot easier to ingest protein via milk. after a few (3~4 eggs in short succession) it just feels like i'm going to gag if i eat another egg. i think it's just that the yolk proteiny flavor is too strong. maybe there's a better way to prepare them? right now i usually scramble them, though i think i might be able to eat a few more if they're hardboiled i have a problem where i feel sick if i eat too much. after 500~600 calories in a meal (or too much protein), i feel like i can't take another bite or i'm going to puke. this is probably why i've always been so skinny, 2.5 meals a day plus a bit of snacking and i was probably eating 1300~1700 calories a day back in high school. i solved this over the summer by buying lactose free whole milk and drinking that all day, but now that i'm back at school i don't have easy access to a car

If your body isn't handling it right, then you may just want to skip GOMAD. Or, you could do something like 1/4th GOMAD with Lactaid, and then get the rest of your calories from other foods with high caloric density, including eggs (80 per egg), beef or pork shortribs, organ meat, white rice, nuts (just don't count on them for protein as the bioavailability is pretty trash), Big Macs, and so on. Just listen to your body and make compromises. If it's saying "no" to milk, you should seriously consider alternatives.

however you cant eat as many this way last night i scrambled eggs and then mixed in chunks of corned beef. it made it 1000% more tastey and no yucky eggyness at all. only problem is corned beef is super expensive here. but do this for sure. if you cant drink milk just dont bother imo, or youll always be wondering if you're feeling nauxious whether you had 1 cup yesterday or 1 litre a week ago, etc. you can do protein powder right? that costs the same as a litre of milk or two a day.

Easy extra 700 kcals per meal (I usually only do maybe lunch and dinner). That's what I'm doing for the kcals right now. You pretty much just eat rice until you feel physically sick after every meal. It's a weird feeling Done it for about a week now, my stomach capacity has definitely increased

Yeah tbh I could move up, but I want to get as strong as possible for this weight class before I'll think about moving up. What about using coconut milk or almond milk instead of whole milk?

ALways good to go 6/6. Going with power jerk? Your clean looks ez pz, work out that jerk and i'm sure you can get 120. Are you cleaning w/ bent arm on purpose? And yes her name is kelly. Always surprised when i hear she bottoms out, i almost never see her miss a lift. BTW have you qualified for nationals?

Snatches looked really solid but it was quite interesting to see you always rotate to the left in the jerks..

I've never really cared much for olympic weightlifting but that was kind of inspiring.

![]() Btw I just noticed the arm bend. I rather start straight arm, then arm bend when I scoop the bar into my hips. @ sjarl I always rotate that way when I jerk. Not sure why ![]()
