Is this what happens when you mix LSD and the weights? The bar isn't much thicker than the pen... last time I checked, a typical barbell is probably 1000% of the width of an average pen, which is... much thicker, in my book? He calls the spine the weakest joints in the body. I don't buy it. Most valuable, maybe, but clearly the guy has never broken a toe. Or finger. Those are a bit more vulnerable, in my experience. At least to the types of force he's talking about. Plus, the muscle, ligaments, and joint structure affect how liable it is to break, and that's just basic fucking physics. Then, he's talking about no training, no experience, and no guidance from someone with either. And he says "no rational person would try this". Well, he's fucking right about that. No rational person would go into a gym, throw 2-3x their body weight on a bar, and try lifts with absolutely zero knowledge. Mind you, I haven't done much with weights in a long ass time, but this guy sounds like a nutjob. And I'm the perfect person to judge, since I'm not drinking the weight lifting kool-aid, or whatever this guy thinks you all do. | ||

On one hand I'm kinda sad I bombed the squat so badly. On first attempt that fucking weird squat rack and those blocks on the floor just ruined it, couldn't even unrack it. 2nd attempt made it barely, and 3rd I still think I did it and got trolled by judges -.-. That said, i'm super happy on my 133kg bench given I'm sure I could have bench a bit more, and that fucking 225kg deadlift (3x bodyweight) was the most epic grind of my life. A solid 5 sec pull. 2nd place, total 185kg+133kg+225kg = 543kg. First place did 554kg. I'm just gonna move up for next competition, best total was less than 500 lol. | ||

Atleast you have competition(hence motivation) here, I'm sure you could've done a 195kg-200kg squat if it wasn't for the strange rack and whatnot, which would've given you the win. Either way, great job (: My total, taking my three maxes is 388kg (275lb squat, 355DL, 225lb bench... my one rep max is like 5-10lb higher than my 5 rep -.-), I'm working hard to reach the special 400kg though. | ||

Squat: 70 kg (start) --> 100kg Deadlift: 125 kg --> 137,5kg Bench: 70kg --> 73 kg OHP: 47,5kg --> 50 kg Power Cleans: 65 kg --> 70 kg all 3x5 (pc 5x3) Need to get this 3 plate dl going next week! | ||
