Fat Paleo authors? Look up just about any paleo book and the author more than likely is fat. Take a look at Rob Wolf for example.

Yes, let's take a look at Robb Wolf:

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=458038064234864&set=t.729700074&type=3&theater

Looks like he's solid muscle to me.

Dig a deeper hole please.

You cherry picked that photo, there are photos of him online with a gut.

Bottom line is that my diet is better than yours go look at The China Study, cooked meat is acidic and damaging.

You support slaughter farms and must not love animals.

Post your photographic proof please. All of us want to see it.

Post your interventional studies please. All of us want to see it.

Until you post any type of proof of your claims no one will believe anything you have to say.

Like I said, post some proof or go away.

Here :

Photo of Rob Wolf with a gut

Thats just one picture. I can post many more of him and other paleo authors with guts.

Also, The China study is the evidence that I posted that proves that meat is no good.

Also, there are hundreds if not thousands of studies that have been done showing that diets high in meat which is basically saturated fat & cholesterol are bad for you.

This is why the AHA recommends a diet low in saturated fats & cholesterol. If you're going to eat any meats at least stick to just fish as fish has healthy fats and has the lowest amount of cholesterol and lowest amount of saturated (bad) fats.

This is why a pesco vegetarian diet has been shown to reduce the risk of CVC by over 20% compared to those on a meat eating diet and it all comes down to the low amounts of saturated fat and total cholesterol in fish and it's high omega 3 count. Most vegans are deficient in Omega 3 and don't get their flax seed or walnuts in and when you do, your CVD risk drops lower than a fish vegetarian's risk.

Eating meat in moderation (about once a week or every other week) also has been proven by the same study (search vegetarian vs meat diet and the article will show up on wikipedia) to lower the risk of CVD and other cancers by a large percentage as well. This also goes along with the data presented in The China Study.

If you're going to eat meat at least eat a small amount and keep it strictly fish and don't eat it every day due to the mercury.

More cholesterol + saturated fats + protein = higher chance of CVD.

Ask any MD or Cardiologist or nutritionist.

Judging by the last post this is going no where fast.

Not that I don't mind people posting more articles/studies on why "paleo" is awesome.

Side note: Was running late after my workout this morning and needed to bring lunch. Grabbed the 2/3 of a package of bacon I cooked earlier this weekend. One of the best lunches ever.

Edit: doh, the post previous to this. not that the one above does much more.
It is vanity to love what passes quickly and not to look ahead where eternal joy abides. Tiberius77 | Mordek #1881 "I took a mint!"

LOL, that's a gut?

Do you even know the difference between an observational study like the China study (and Campbell even fudged the wrong conclusions out of it) and an interventional study?

I just ate two tuna fish salad sandwiches.....yummy.

I don't have anything against the complete consumption fo meat I just have a problem primary with slaughter farms.....the bottom line is that they are as un moral as you know what.

I still think that the vegetarian and fish based vegetarian based diets are the best.

Research has shown that a diet that includes fish and is vegetarian based reduces the risk of CVD the most.

All other animals besides fish have higher cholesterol values and less omega 3 a long with more saturated fat.

Tuna has 0 saturated fat and only like 1% fat not to mention it has a good amount of Omega 3 not to mention it's as cheap as heck.

Sure someone can point out that it has mercury (unless it's mercury free fish) but we're exposed to gas fumes and have mercury fillings and exposed to radiation rays all the time.

I have not seen a single study showing that the consumption of any meat besides fish is beneficial.

It even said on the label of tuna that it's heart health since it's low in saturated fat and has omega 3 and is low in cholesterol.

Who should I believe in? The people on the internetz that say that saturated fat loaded bacon is good for you or the AHA???

Right now I'm trying to keep my diet down to only 5% fish the rest veggies, nuts, grains, legumes, & fruits as sometimes I still get a craving for fish due to my ancestry background where fish was abundant.

So I try to keep it as close to The China Study as possible and what the research has shown along with what the AHA has shown & told us.

I don't consider fish meat they are like insects to me.

Slaughter farms are terrible at least fish are killed pretty soon after they are caught not to mention I only eat fish once a week anyways.

Fish is still dead meat but it has a very very low cholesterol value and no saturated fat and only 1% percent of your daily fat.

I eat fish for it's Omega 3 fatty acids & B12.

I could eat walnuts but I don't like the taste of them.

Fish based vegetarian diets is the best diet to lower risk of CVD.

I could never go back to any other meats besides fish.

Not really.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pescetarianism

"A 1999 meta-analysis of five studies comparing vegetarian and non-vegetarian mortality rates in Western countries found that in comparison with regular meat-eaters, mortality from ischemic heart disease was 34% lower in pescetarians, 34% lower in ovo-lacto vegetarians, 26% lower in vegans and 20% lower in occasional meat-eaters.[9]"

So 34% lower risk of CVD vs those that eat bacon and other ground based meats.

also, just for the lulz

i have no idea why you're eating fish.
Fish is loaded with mercury and our oceans are going astray in huge part because of the large human consumption of mercury filled seafood.

You get more omega 3 in a handful of walnuts than a whole Salmon.....you be the judge of whats better. Mercury filled Salmon with omega 3 or Raw Walnuts with no mercury that has even more omega 3?

dead meat has very little nutritional value and is actually more harmful than you than anything.

Cooked meat has been proven to cause cancer and is bad for you.

natural plant based foods are much better for you

it has been shown that those that consume less meat live longer

[vegan] is morally, a better diet as well (I don't support the killing of animals).

Honestly, I would rather eat vegetables that are sprayed with pesticides vs eating dead meat

btw, pescetarianism is a type of paleo.

Paleo doesn't eat grains. pescetarianism does eat grains......

I agree that cooked meat is generally bad for you but I have been doing more research and the verdict seems to be that a fish based vegetarian diet is the best one for you even according to The China Study.

I get cravings for fish anyways but not any other meat due to my ancestors eat a diet that as based primarily on potatoes, grains, & fish.

I agree with ieatkids5 and the other poster that some of my older posts were filled with bullshit but that's because I was watching idiotic youtubers who were talking about how eating nothing but 30 bananas a day is good for you.....I'm still looking into diet but so far the fish based vegetarian diet seems to make the most sense to me.

HA you're right, just looked it up and pescetarianism really is a type of paleo. Well I'm sorry for anyone that I pissed off in this thread I admit that I'm very ignorant on the subject of diet (but not completely ignorant) and I'm glad posters took the time out like the poster ieatkids5 to show where I'm wrong.

Robb Wolf was talking in a youtube video about how a pecto vegetarian diet is fine and is paleo I'll stick with that and keep doing more research.

Holy shit. A breakthrough. This is amazing stuff.

Please, before you use the china study as the rock you base vegetarianism on, you should at least read one (or many) of the criticisms on it:
http://rawfoodsos.com/2010/07/07/the-china-study-fact-or-fallac/ (from a former vegan)
how reasonable is it to eat off wood instead of your tummy?
