I'm going to give an example of why working out is awesome:
Today I was at the bus stop at night waiting to go home with 2 other girls there as well. An Indian man and his wife stop by and the man goes to take a piss at the parked car. I look at him for a second because I was surprised and then the wife starts saying "I should kick your ass for looking at my old man's dick you faggot". I saw her yelling but I didn't hear anything until one of the girls told me later because I was listening to music. When the man finished soaking the car with his piss he stormed to me with his face literally touching mine and boy oh boy did he smell like shit. He started yelling with all these obscene words and calling me a faggot and that he's going to kick my ass. I'm just standing there with my chest held high and feeling invincible as usual. I tell him I don't know what he's talking about in a relaxed voice. At this point I tighten my fists in case shit was going to start flying but then his mother came out of nowhere and pulled them away.
I smiled at both girls after, the Japanese girl blushed and soaked her panties. The other girl immediately started talking to me and gave me her name.

A few months ago when I was a fragile 110lb I was intimidated of guys sure, but now I'm scared of no man unless they're close to 7 feet tall and 350lb gorilla but that's rare. I have boxing and wrestling background so I know what to do.
TBH I was expecting him to throw the first punch anyways, I never start a fight because I'd rather use the self-defense explanation so I don't get in trouble.

I am probably the weakest person in my gym. Do they lift weights at home for a year before joining gym just to not look weakling like me? :D Like first time ~1month ago when I tried squat PR. Felt great to get 100kg up and then like 30minutes later some random dude squats 270kg x2 and 280kg x1 (didnt use a spotter so probably was capable of more).
Hit 40kg press yesterday. Pretty happy about that, I really want to hit 50 kg. Squat is now up to 80 kg, still way lower than I want it to. Back on SS though, so those squat numbers should rise pretty well. I'm really looking forward to deadlifts, was able to hit 120kg last time, so I hope I'll get to 2xBW soon (my BW is currently 67kg).
Current numbers: Bench 65 kg, Squat 80 kg, DL 120 kg. Hoping to get my squat up to ~100 kg, I'd be happy with that.

i think its safe to say that a lot of ppl who end up in the gym either done it before/highschool/uni and/or have some genetic affiliation or a member of a sport that got them involved in the first place. just chill out about it (stop posting about it), if you stick to your program it wont be an issue within a year, and theres no point dwelling over things in the meantime - it just fucks with your emotional state *is a pro at this*

I can only recommend boxing (or some kickboxing variant). It's insane fun and the most exhausting sport I have ever done.

Really pissed at the gym trainer...pretty much the first time I asked him to look at my squat form (been squatting for nearly 6 weeks now, going from 55lbs total to 155 lbs today) and he told me I was squatting too wide and needed to squat narrow to avoid knee injury. I did that for one set and it HURT. Like, not the good kind of hurt. I switched back to my wide stance which lets me get 90 degree motion and looked online and apparently squatting wide is fine.
Now I have a "crick" right above my right shoulder...not too painful but worrying.
Damnit. This isn't an injury, right? From what I hear, SOME pain is always to be expected, "injury" means I can barely move that part of myself.

The fact that you are physically unable to squat with a reasonably wide stance is worrying though. How narrow is narrow? Rip says heels shoulder width, toes 30 degrees out. Powerlifting sumo style should be a choice, not a necessity I think. Post a video?
Don't have a video but a wide stance is what i was comfortable with and worked upto...and apparently its a valid choice. There's nothing wrong with squatting narrow, there WAS something wrong with squatting narrow with the same weight as I was using on the stance I had grown comfortable with.
EDIT: After all, I did complete a set with my max weight and can squat narrow just fine without weight.
