Ok, doing the math, at that bodyweight your goal is to do a deadlift close to 600lb, so you have to post your actual numbers now

2x body mass bench, 3x body mass deadlift?! So with your current weight (same as mine actually) you're planning to bench 386 pounds? That's insane, like legit bodybuilder status. I hope you're planning to lose at least 25 more pounds of fat lol.
My bench max is around 245 and I can't imagine doing 140 more unless I keep lifting and taking supplements for several more years.

If you want to drop your bf% join up with a local wresting/mma club.
I've never been in as good a shape as when I wrestled.
P.S. I'll be adding my stats/goals as soon as I can afford a gym membership =\. I've been doing what ever I can with my body weight for about a month now and not having a squat rack is killing me.

Quick question. I recently hurt my knee playing bball, don't really know what happened but there is pain in my left knee joint now. Going to see a physiotherapist soon, but wondering what good cardio exercises are there that I can do that are light on the knees?

Swimming too, as well as rowing machine.

Anything that doesn't aggravate it is fine

Eshlow, I have a question.
My girlfriend has serious flexibility issues. Her neck, shoulders, and legs are always really stiff, and I think she needs to stretch regularly and move around a bit to stop cramping up so often.
Do you have any stretching regimens that may help someone in her situation? I'm talking about something from the very beginning ... she barely makes it halfway down her shins when she straightens her legs and tries to touch her toes.
|
I'm no eshlow, but maybe http://mobilitywod.blogspot.com/ is a good start? Maybe you/she can search up some of the problem areas and go from there?
Recently, I've been moving into a higher rep training program that a buddy of mine is doing while waiting for one of the trainers at my school to email me back with a specific fitness plan. Fuck, doing more than 5 reps in a set is weird. It burns like never before

Somehting good happened
So I'm taking my vacation in China, and apparently, the Westin gym has a short bar and plates, although the bar is only 12kg (vs 22 standard), as far as I can tell, it's still olympic-esque. There are six 20kg plates and four 10kg plates, which should be enough for me even for DL!
Squats and benches are going to be a problem since they have a smith machine instead of a squat rack (sadness), but I can't complain too much given that this is a hotel not a gym. I think I'm going to do low-weight-high-rep front squats by cleaning the bar first.
I'm super excited!
My knee still hurts a bit, but it's getting a lot better, I pulled 72kg cleans pretty easily today without feeling any discomfort. The other bad thing is that I can't drop the bar since it's super quiet, but again, not complaining

I do not. This channel has some cleverly named bits from a few of them, including Idalberto's squats, Kahki being Kahki, and Azadnidse and Kolecki doing high rep stuff. http://www.youtube.com/user/boty2000
I don't really want to buy another one, but if I did it would be the Lahti training hall one or the Kolecki/Azadnidse one.

Hey guys! Update: people asked for my actual lifting stats, I didn't post them because I didn't want my first post in this thread to seem self-involved; just wanting to show some progress to contribute
but for those interested + Show Spoiler +I should preface by saying my 6 month goal includes losing another ~4-5 kg's (I'm at 189 cm or 6'2.5) But currently my bench press is at 152kg's/335lb, and my deadlift is at 226kg's/500lbs. So I have a lot of work ahead of me, but I've been told it's a realistic goal by the physiotherapist that I work with We'll see, but I'm eager to try! GL to everyone else with great goals for natural body building! For those interested though, what sort of supplements are you using?
|
Going to go in and try a bunch of different crap tomorrow. Hopefully I don't wear myself out like I did on Wednesday.
We need a forum. I don't check the thread for a day and bam 3+ pages to read through. lol

... suddenly your goals dont seem so unrealistic anymore. gl you nerdy beast!

@Carson fucking beast mode numbers dude. Really impressive!!
@Catch yeah we really do need our own subforum . Can't believe LoL gets one and not health and fitness. We need to convert more people to the ways of self-improvement.
|
I think (hope) the admins are working on a subforum

Jesus you leave for a couple days and it's worse than physiology homework trying to catch up with this thread.
@carson - Very nice lifts, your about equal with me which is really impressive. Aside from food I take Whey, fish oil, multivitamin, and will start creatine again after I get back from my honeymoon.
UPDATE-----
Wedding, is now a week away and I'm weighing in steady at 175 lbs which is 2lbs down from my last update. Lifts are still better than I thought they were gonna be. Managed to do bench for 275x6 today which I was extremely happy about. My workout partner hit 405 on deadlift so it was a good week for both of us I'd say.
Also, who has experience with a spray tan, I'm too white and have no time for an actual tan.
|
no experience, but an opinion: gay :p
|
Try asking your fiancée, I bet she has a lot more experience with spray tan than anyone of us Or just any girl you know.
|
Btw forgot to mention this earlier, I managed to convince my brother to follow me to the gym yesterday, so he'll be on SS aswell.
Now, my goal of becoming bigger and stronger than him just became a lot harder...
