285 DL today and felt great, I think I could have done 300 if I really wanted to but I was already pretty tired by that point. I think I'm going to try 295 or 305 next week.

You're suppose to get protein, no doubt about that, but as soon as you come back home its a must that you replenish your Glycogen storage. Take 2 tsp. of Honey and a banana and you should be set for carbs, too many people only eat meats, and don't eat veggies and fruits that they need.

Day 1 of bulgarian program...success. Even if it was the hardest thing i've ever done. Squatting and rugby yesterday didn't help.
Snatch:
2x3 72.5, 3x2 77.5, 5x1 87.5 Only missed one snatch.
Clean & jerk
2x3 92.5, 5x1 105
Front Squat
2x2 255lb, 1x2 285lb

I think i'm gonna go cry now.

Do both, win more.

Today's workout:

Push Press: 70kg x 5 (slow and steady getting this one up, the 100kg log is just asking to be conquered!!)
DB Millitary Press: 15kg x 8 and 3 sets of 21kg x 8 (only got this for 1 set and 7 reps so pretty good)
Lateral Raises: 10kg x 8 and 13kg x 6 (bad form...)
BB Curl: 3 sets of 40kg x 8
Alt. DB Curl: 10kg x 8 and 13kg x 8 (strict form)

Overall pretty nice.

Nice! I'd love to overhead press 100kg by the end of the year, only around 75 right now.

LINK YOUR SOURCES BRO.

HAVE YOU LEARNED NOTHING?

MOST IMPORTANT THING IS YOUR CELL-TECH EVERY DAY.

Edit: talking about performance, Decaf, why don't you do plyometrics? or you already do them?

I consider throwing my bodyweight above my head to be pretty explosive and performance enhancing in itself :D I did plyometrics when i was just powerlifting and/or speed training though. Oly lifting seems to be helping a shit ton though.

Choco whole milk.... best post workout drink ever for mass.

Lots of carbs, lots of protein, good enough amount of fat.

And yes, choco whole milk outperforms isocaloric skim milk and workout drinks in the studies.

is choco whole milk common? I can only find 1% choco milk. I guess I can always mix it with nesquik?

My buddy found this bulgarian workout that looks pretty awesome i think i might want to try it out, lemme know what you guys think:
http://www.mikesgym.org/programs/index.php?show=program&programID=27

It looks like a watered down version. A full bulgarian workout would be 3 weeks of max4day snatch, clean and jerk, front/back squat 2x per day, then a week of once a day lower volume training.

The program you linked would still want to make me kill myself halfway through it. I think you should give it a shot though, you've got a few years of training experience and could probably handle it in rugby offseason.

Well I dont think anyone does the true bulgarian style that Abedjiev used. It is a very brutal program.

oh yeah, the Abadjiev system is a full time job no doubt. It makes Broz/Krastev look easy. Abadjiev had them do the same exercise twice in the 4 hour session, so it would be like Snatch, 30 min break, clean and jerk, 30 minute break, snatch again, 10 minute break, front squat, nap for a few hours, come back and do the workout again with two clean and jerk sessions.

Anyway, i want decaf to log all his workouts, and I'm curious to see what will happen to his bench/dl on this kind of program.

Well, you could use honey and bananas or whatver. They are quite high in fructose and I've always preferred pure glucose pwo. Like eschlow said: choco milk is king, only mine has a little more protein in it.

@Decaf: I'll post a pic soon of this monster of a log. It is huge.
