Today's workout went great:

Squat: 155kg 5-5-5 (nice and easy with good form)
Bench: 62,5kg 5-5-5 (still rehab weight, so focus on form)
Deadlift: 180kgx5
Power Clean: 20kg 3-3-3 (focus on arms)

Deadlift was a clean set of 5, my grip did not fail me today. I even walked the weight back onto the pins. Now I'm 2,5kg or one workout away from my PR, which is from May 2010. Although I will have to work out in a different gym on Saturday, so I may not go for it then and postpone it a couple of days. I don't trust plates which I do not know

I'd move the power cleans to the start of the workout since it is just some light techical work and I've always felt like technical stuff should be done first before fatigue kicks in.

That actually makes a lot of sense. Just need to decide beforehand if I am gonna do them at all, but that should be doable

5k today. Killed it! My time wasn't spectacular since I haven't run that distance in a few months and never before ran that distance barefoot. But it was under 28min and I'm happy with that. Not too sore right now but I know I will be tomorrow! Definitely not squatting until Thursday LoL. Also I stretched out really well after the race. Felt good to loosen up my hip flexors both during the run and afterwards in the stretching. They've been feeling tight as hell during my squats recently. One of my friends who also attended was also surprised at how flexible I am. Especially in the hammies and glutes. And I'm probably less than 6 inches away from full split now when I am fully warmed up.

On a side note, I am attending a rather formal type event on Saturday. Just sent a few of my suits in for much needed dry cleaning. Since I don't get to wear a suit all that often it surprises everyone when I actually "dress to impress". Not gunna lie, I look baller as hell in a suit.

I'd like suits if they fit me better. I swear everytime i go to put one on it fits worse than before (legs and lats/shoulders getting too big lol) Just bought a bunch of dress clothing, such a pain in the ass because none of it is athletically tapered for V shape and my legs are always too tight and waist too loose.

I barely fit into my favorite suit now which was perfect for skinny zatic :-( Like 2 more months and my legs will bust through that.

Damn getting new suits will be such a pain. It was hard enough finding good suits being rather short, now the leg problem comes on top.

Buying suits is totally awesome though. Also, can't you buy a decently fitting suit and then go to a tailor? Taking a few inches off the pants can't be hard for a professional.

Also, turns out the fatigue is solved by a girl haha, haven't been grinning this bad in years. My feet litterally cannot stop moving. That means workouts may continue :D

EDIT: Also also also, I'm just an obvious foreigner

This problem is even worse when you're short... 16" neck at 5'8" means any regular shirt/jacket on rack either won't let me breathe or is made for a short fat guy -_-

Next suits I get will have more spent on tailoring than the suit itself I think.

Man that wrist really is holding you back... I'm at 195x3x5 (although I think I strained my shoulder doing it) and like 100lbs behind your squat/deadlift. But then like every high school/college kid that knows nothing about programming, I've benched significantly more than any other compound exercise in the past.

Crappy workout today. Weights room was occupied with a group of 50+ ladies when I got there and their session had just started, so i did a bit of cardio and some stretches to pass the time. Proceeded to fail bench press in the first set and really struggled through the squat, losing form drastically in the final set.

Bad couple of days. Eating badly too much sugar and not enough protein, only getting ~6 hours of sleep. Might take my two day break now and really recover, try and nail it on saturday.

were there more than fifty ladies there or ladies of 50+ years of age? :p

and did they squat/bench/power clean? or why couldnt you work out there as well! I find that having some ladies around is pretty motivating! just ask funkie, he always gets hit on in the gym (and everywhere else as well because he is boss)

LoL I had the same question. 50 ladies in a gym just means cardio machine eye candy. 50+ ladies though... :/

The is only one bar bell at my gym, and it's in this alcove (you use this word? alcoves?) that is fairly small. There was like 10 ladies, 50+ years of age working with a personal trainer and they closed the alcove while they all took it in turns to work out how to use a new pulley machine my gym wasted some money on.

Let me know if its worth buying.

EDIT: Also, is anybody good with computer set ups that would be willing to help me? At the moment, I can't even run SC2 on medium without intense lag. So any help would be much appreciated and I'll do my best to make it easy on ya lol

^ There's a tech help forum for these kinds of things.

What are your computer's specs? It's probably because you don't have enough memory or you don't have a good enough graphics card (possibly both).

i feel pretty bad

last week i ate bad one day due to laziness, then skipped a gym day because i felt under-recovered, then done 2-3 twenty-forty minute sessions not giving myself enough time due to laziness, then suddenly was given some cannabis that i could easily have turned down, then skipped another gym day because i'd rather smoke weed than wait an hour and go back to the gym when it wasnt saturated, then today i moved too slowly and only gave myself 50 minutes before the gym closed so i didnt bother going, and now im drinking vodka.

shit fucks up so easily for me, i feel like a train that went slightly off the rails and is skidding along the path with sparks flying all over and about to crash coz it cant get back on track

you know its been like 6 sessions in a row that ive tried to work on my squat form with 30-40kg weight. i really think this problem is what is dragging my mental state down and making me frankly dismotivated and fucked. you do three weeks and still your squat is showing literally zero improvement from session 1, of course im gonna lose confidence.

dont feel too bad about that, ive been overweight my entire life and i finally got shit back on track in november last year, i worked out steadily 5 times a week (3 cardio, 2 str) and i got a cold that lasted for a week, that was all i needed to jump off the wagon and just start eating crap again..

it came to the point where i gained back the 5 kg i lost jogging 45 min sessions 3 times a week and that really pissed me off.. all i needed though was to focus on the good parts of my workout, for me i have some squatting issues at around 80 kg now so i get my focus from my deadlift which im doing great on!

gotta make the little things matter dude, feed on the progress you make.. however little it may be

I want to tone my whole body, i just want an evenly balanced overall body tone. How do i go about doing that? Do i have to plan carefully like, this week im only gonna train my arms, next week chest or how does it work?

Theres probably a TON of excercises to work all your muscle groups, do i have to pay attention to them all and do them? Im really new to this, any helping direction would be great!

Ive also just started to run 3-4 times a week sometimes 4-5 / week.

Wasn't happy with my form. Ima reset to 205 and work back up.

I'm no expert, but SS is a very strong full body workout. Also you need to lose the idea of muscle tone, there is muscle and there is not. 'Tone' comes from having muscle mass and a low body fat %.

In the OP there are loads of good links to help you find the routine for you, and nutrition guides.
