5 3-drops in the whole pool (a 1/1 Eldrazi creating a scion, a sorcery creating 2 scions, the mana fixer elf and the red eldrazi you can tap).
Loads of white removal (3x sorcery killing tapped stuff, instant killing 4+ strength stuff for 3W, 2x instant dealing 4 damage to attacking/blocking creature) and a couple landfall creatures.
Random red stuff. Creature with landfall to create hasted token that end up exiled, Bird of Akoum, couple landfall creatures and minotaur allies giving trample.
Mostly drawing (rest under deck) shit and low drop eldrazi with ingestion, and a couple counterspells for blue.
Green had a couple of the elves with converge, also the elves that can grow on landfall (didn't notice they get two markers and not one but that didn't play into that game's result), and a couple landfall creatures.
Bone splinters, and a nice combo (vampire that gets flying when I gain life, dude that makes me gain life and my opponent lose when my creatures die, vampire that makes my opponent lose life when I gain some) but I didn't have allies. Couple landfall + menace creaturers.
Got big eldrazi (the one that makes opponent exile permanent when it attacks, one that creates scions if I send exiled cards back to opponent's graveyard), also the artefact that exiles every creature with 5+ strength.
I'd have liked to combine BW but not enough creatures. Got some strong allies (the RW that search the top of the library for allies, the GW one that creates plant tokens, etc.) but not even 10 allies, and split over 10 colours.
So I went blue for library-exiling creatures (one has flying, another can't be blocked), green for scion-spawning and the mana fixing elf, white for removal, threw in a few creatures and the eldrazi.
40 people so 6 rounds, starting 3 PM.
Match 1: another newbie. He opened two Gideon but didn't have white apart from that, went black eldrazi. Put me on the backfoot because of the eldrazi that exiles the top of my library, and puts lands exiled this way onto his battlefield. He exiled two of my anti-big guys removal and took two lands (one of which let him search his library for another one).
He also sent my eldrazi back to my hand after I sacrificed scions for it. I ended up winning when I finally drew some lands.
Took super long to play, game 2 ended by a draw on time, I'd have won my following turn as I resolved my eldrazi right after I stabilised on 3 HP.
Match 2: crushed 2-0 by a RW allies who kills me in 5 turns both games, I have a load of blue cards in my hand but no island, despite searching the top 4, then 5 cards of my library (I only had 3-4 islands so I underestimated my needs anyway) in game 2 and I just look at him winning.
I ask for some help with my deck if he doesn't mind, and he points out my lack of early drops and how I don't have any curve to really hold until my bombs come out anyway. Tells me to move to red since I have several creatures and good cards (good synergy with landfall, and trample from the minotaurs can really help), while keeping white for all the removal.
I had 14 lands in the first deck, relying on scions, people point out the standard is 17. I get 18 and 2 colours instead of 3 in the new one.
Match 3: mulligan to 5 then mana screwed. Get decent draws and guy runs out of steam next (he's playing RW too, lot more red than me). Last game goes to topdeck and he draws two terrains while I get two creatures out so I win.
Match 4: utterly trashed by UB eldrazi/flyers, mulliganed to 5 and 6, mana screwed both games. Game 1 turns 3-4 his flying eldrazi exiles lands. Game 2 the one time it attacks it exiles a land too. We play another one and I have to mulligan to 5 and get trashed again. I have no answers for a bunch of flyers.
Match 5 : I mulligan to 5 because I get flooded then screwed (4 lands then 3), then I'm flooded in the game proper. Then I'm screwed for the longest time in game 2, I'm almost dead but because he's beating me down I get to hit his face too and my removal lets me catch up in the race. I topdeck Atoum Firebird for exact lethal but he held onto the 7: exile target creature instant from his starting hand and seals the game next turn.
Match 6: I mulligan to 5 then 6, mana screwed both games, I legit spent 4 turns in the second one drawing then telling him it's his turn.
I thought I'd spend the afternoon for this and it instead took the whole day (1:30 PM to 10:30 PM), the draft was poor with little interesting cards, I got two interesting commons (because they're white/black allies) in the reward packs, and a foil ally of Dywen from the origins one, I spent about half of the games (over half after I switch decks) not playing at all, I actually spent more times shuffling (to break these hands with 5 lands in a row, a creature, then a row) and drawing than actually playing in the last two matches.
9 games with the 18 lands deck, 4 mulligans to 5, 3 mulligans to 6, twice I kept the starting hand.
I'm still ill so my head's starting to ache now that I'm finally back home, I've done nothing for basically half the time I've spent awake (including that my packs had little interesting stuff for me), and it'll soon be time to go to bed.
I'm pretty disappointed and kinda bitter about all that, don't think I was salty though (not in a negative sense), I joked about my misfortunes and smiled with people rather than get grumpy, which is a win in a way for a rager like me, I guess?
Landfall didn't seem interesting at all but that's mostly because I didn't see it in play (play creature for 4 mana, play a 5th land to activate it once, I ended most games with 3-4 mana, and apart from 2 the ones I went over that it was flooding and I didn't have anything to play). Even then, it's just "you play a land" so it's not exactly deep or anything from what I can see.
Ingest is more interesting than I thought because of processors, and with the amount of cards that let you look at the top of your library, place stuff back there and the rest at the bottom, there are way to use it against your opponent I guess?
Allies is interesting but I could only watch people use them after my games were over.
Convergence I can't speak about, in a couple friendly matches I got trashed by it because people played cards on curve with the maximum colours of mana usable for the cards. Incentive to go tricolour I guess.

Oh honey.
14 lands? Really?
You should have been practicing sealed with the rest of us.
When you say you got flooded/screwed are you talking the first few turns or later on in the game once you're drawn out?
