I actually tried getting into TF2 last month after 3-5 years of not playing it (around when it went F2P) by playing on TF2Center and it's suprisingly accessible and really fun! After few games I think it's too late for me to play 6v6 (outside of occasional Scout/roaming Soldier game, other 3 roles too important), but I'm enjoying highlanders quite a lot, pretty much the best TF2 experience I've had.
As for Overwatch, I'm expecting TF2's level of variety and chaos, as well as similar pace, except with the former two coming from different character setups instead of wacky item loadouts (which is much preferred by me). Especially if we get moba style drafting. Cooldowned abilities look cool in place of ammo system. Dunno man I look at all those new Action First-Person/Third-Person Shooter/Slasher-Moba hybrid and I feel like between Gigantic, Paladins, Battleborn and Overwatch I will find my favorite genre. It's just that Overwatch as a game by Blizzard has the most chance for success, and it was the first one announced of those games I think (at least the first that got hyped).

Tried watching TI5 from bed, but too difficult to follow what's going on and who the players are. Ended up watching hotel transylvania instead. Was not disappointed.

Don't learn DotA 2. Wing DotA 2 stacks with others on TL and run around doing random stuff.
+ Show Spoiler [competitive doto] +"Cleave everyone mana away" implies Battlefury applies on-hit effects to people around? I thought it only cleaves your base attack damage (or maybe base+bonus), and that Mana Void only calculates the damage for the target then applies it in an AoE, rather than calculate the damage for every hero in the AoE?

I don't know what to think about these TI games. Looks like a violent see saw designed to terror children.

Children, or man children?
I think I've found the formula to DotA. If I want to have fun, I pick Clockwerk or Kaolin. If I want to win, I pick BH and spam track in the hopes that our resident carries kill some of these people and carry my ass with the all-important bonus gold I granted them with impeccable plays.

Because you can't feed if you stay in fountain and keep sniping people with your ult pretending you're Karthus?

Pretty sure that audience noise/excitement will make it so those mines in the trees near top tower are never popped.

Hold them for like a few.
My gut feeling is that they'll be reprinted in the new Commander product in Nov.
