Can't you just take fluoride pills? For most of my childhood my town didn't fluoridate their water, so either our dentist or our pediatrician (I don't know which, I was 5-8 or something) prescribed me and my siblings fluoride pills.

You absolutely can. Point being fluoridation of drinking water is a safe and effective method of preventing decay when nothing else is done, which is an unfortunate case in many communities, particularly within North America. This is less of an issue in Europe supposedly as nationalized dental care is more common.

LOL I've had one tooth completely fucked, had to kill all the nerves and rebuild most of it from scratch (not much was left), that costed about 250 usd. Not too bad imo, given that the tooth was literally broken into 2 pieces for about 2 years.

Don't you have a good dental plan wave? or I guess this was before your full time employment? Canada is pretty good for dental care even if it is not on a national level.
|
I personally don't but that's not the point. The point is on a municipal to national level. Obviously we got our teeth and our sons teeth checked but we're still going to to everything we can to stay healthy, which includes using treated water when possible.

I went to a Yankees game solo in 2007 before they tore down the old stadium. I got to see Rivera pitcher in the rain in the 9th, it was amazing.
Then I spent like 12 hours trying to get back because I missed the last train to where I needed to go. That part kind of sucked. But I got to see Mo in old Yankee Stadium, so definitely worth it. I spent most of the 6th, 7th, 8th just walking around the outfield seats and watching as I went.

As of recently I'm now contractually obligated to tell you that going to a baseball game is awesome.

I'm sure they were mad impressed by your milk-rubbing skills.

TIL the limit on buying WoW tokens with gold is gone. I am free to liquidate the rest of my ridiculous WoW fortune for Hearthstone cards, Starcraft expansions, and more.
BRB leveling all my alliance alts for more ill-gotten gains.

can you buy blizzard swag too?

Only software. So games, cosmetics, in-game stuff, gametime etc

Can you use your money charitably? :D
|
Yeah can you gift WoW tokens to poor children who just want to play?
|
It is technically possible to do that, but I already have a charity of choice and prefer to avoid the tragedy of the commons.

Monte McMoneybags refusing to give you guys handouts huh?
You should try hitting up Cixah :D
|
Even I don't get free handouts, Monte McMoneybags sees more profit in "hiring" me to level his alliance alts.

When the state is paying everyone's dental, they're much more inclined to pass regulations which reduce the cost of the average persons dental care. It goes from "this would improve peoples lives" to "we can pay X to put flouride in our water, and save much more than X in child dental care as a direct result," which is a very easy sell :p
It is true lot of european countries don't add flouride to most of their drinking water, but I believe that's just because they happen to have naturally high levels of flouride to begin with, so it wouldn't help anyway.

That'd be the logical conclusion. But no politician want to be that guy that goes "Alright boys and girls we're gonna spend a ton of money on something you wont notice but it'll pay off in the long run! I promise!".
