Weird request for a game recommendation, but it can be any genre (FPS, hack n slash, TBS, etc.) D3 has desensitized me to feeling good when loot drops lol
d2
I put a ridiculous amount of hours into d2 but I can't honestly call the loot system rewarding especially if someone is going to be playing solo and not using trade systems. I mean sure with tempered expectations and budget build guides you can do alright self found but the game as it evolved wasn't built around that at all.
I don't know what I would recommend right now. I started PoE last season and the loot system felt nice but as I was starting to get deeper into it I was feeling like it might be a bit over complicated for the sake of having 'choice' which in fairness there are apparently crazy amounts of useful and fun builds but man can the amount of different stats/drop types get crazy.
I'm always a fan of the Borderlands series but they eventually get dominated by legendary drops after all of the DLC(although if you just want to campaign it and do some questing you won't need to min max very hard and can enjoy the loot as is).

girlfriend just got a siberia 200 very good for the price point. but if you are looking at something closer to 200 you could get a nice 5.1 pair instead. Its way more comfortable than my headset and she wears glasses and doesnt mind it.
This is what I have. I had to get a usb converter to use the mic with my laptop (my laptop only has one 10 mm port) but other than that sound quality is good and the mic is good for gaming. But $200 is enough money that if you wanted to make videos, stream, or simply sound super slick you could get a quality stand-alone microphone with pop filter (good entry-level ones cost $85-95) and use the rest on a pure headset. If I had $200 for it that's what I'd do, in terms of mic quality a headset will never match a stand alone and while I haven't researched dedicated headphones much their sound probably could surpass expensive headsets.
But as a budget option just go with the siberia. Can also confirm it's comfortable with glasses.
if it only has 1 port is it a 4 pole port? cause it comes with an adapter for that too which is nice so you can use it for your phone and stuff if you want to advertise how nerdy you are while you walk around.
Hmm, I actually have no idea. I don't remember getting an adapter like that and don't know if I still have it. Oops. Would be useful, I have nerdily worn it with my phone already... I'll have to go rummaging around through my electronics boxes.

i don't think that you should go into an arpg expecting to get bis hardest content capable characters by yourself. if you can that indicates to me that the loot system is fucked up like d3 and that the game doesn't encourage social interaction
i didn't even touch diablo 2 until this ladder season after i had 2.5k hours in d3 and its been the best arpg experience i've ever had
poe has a big problem of being unable to just pick up items and use them. you have to spend loads of currency to modify and upgrade before things become usable even for the uniques. to me it devalues the actual drops and the feeling of getting items pretty significantly. the only thing i get any rush from is picking up high tier currency

Playing that right now, i really like how easy it is to respec, allowing you to try builds or get rid of skills that you don't like as you go. Gameplay feels a little slow but hopefully it picks up.

Now I can start saving for new computer things
Started a new build yesterday.
Didn't boot up.
Found out I fucked up and got the wrong RAM. AGAIN.
Hopefully it starts today!
If it makes you feel any better, when I made my computer I got a mobo/cpu deal from a retailer and had to send it back(which involved an hour drive both ways) because the mobo wouldn't read ANY ram, regardless of compatibility. So when I got home with a new one and get it going, my CPU fan doesn't spin because the wiring ever so slightly touched the fan blade and stopped it from moving.

the breaches themselves are pretty fun to do
I haven't paid attention to PoE in a while. Since the season after perandus (I forget what it was). Prophecy?

Guild party with wow friends for new years, beach house for a few days doing nerd shit. Then next Thursday I leave for MAGFest in DC, and agdq the week after.
And general hanging out with my sister cuz she also lives on DC
I always find it weird when I go to help someone troubleshoot something and they are totally oblivious to how to begin to troubleshoot something.
You just... pick something and see if it works. Then you do that till you run out of things. Then you Google it. And then if it's not fixed after awhile you know a bunch of shit that isn't broken and even if you can't fix it yourself you saved big bucks bevause you can immediately tell a pro the issue.
It's really not hard. It boggles me how many people I know who are just like "Fuck it's broke. Oh well."

Best part is, in the future, with similar circumstances, you can skip steps! Mind boggling, really is.

What's this one?
breach league: there are 5 types of breaches and they all drop currency that can be used to make portals to go fight the breach lords they spawn in zones as these claw things that you walk through to activate

Actually I'm just an idiot. I didn't seat the RAM properly. Luckily I didn't end up re-purchasing anything unnecessary; a helpful Micro Center employee steered me straight.
Now I have an AMAZING rig. I gotta try streaming on it soonish.

breach is much better integrated into the game, talisman's problem was that it was clunky and it took forever to farm up while taking up half your inventory. the devs seem to have learned their lesson from that one. i haven't played much b/c ffxv, but its pretty fun.

It's not just about not being able to self find enigmas and botd pieces. It's about how for any given build, some absurd amount of items you find are going to just be ducking worthless outright except for their value in a trading system. Now when I was playing on bnet this wasn't negative, it was part of the charm even, but I just can't recommend it to someone who wanted a game with a standout loot system(which when I think of what that means to me at least is that I find item drops to be rewarding, exciting, useful, but not spoonfed either, and d2 just doesn't cut it in the modern day, which isn't to say the game itself isn't still fun).
