Weird request for a game recommendation, but it can be any genre (FPS, hack n slash, TBS, etc.) D3 has desensitized me to feeling good when loot drops lol d2 I put a ridiculous amount of hours into d2 but I can't honestly call the loot system rewarding especially if someone is going to be playing solo and not using trade systems. I mean sure with tempered expectations and budget build guides you can do alright self found but the game as it evolved wasn't built around that at all. I don't know what I would recommend right now. I started PoE last season and the loot system felt nice but as I was starting to get deeper into it I was feeling like it might be a bit over complicated for the sake of having 'choice' which in fairness there are apparently crazy amounts of useful and fun builds but man can the amount of different stats/drop types get crazy. I'm always a fan of the Borderlands series but they eventually get dominated by legendary drops after all of the DLC(although if you just want to campaign it and do some questing you won't need to min max very hard and can enjoy the loot as is). i don't think that you should go into an arpg expecting to get bis hardest content capable characters by yourself. if you can that indicates to me that the loot system is fucked up like d3 and that the game doesn't encourage social interaction i didn't even touch diablo 2 until this ladder season after i had 2.5k hours in d3 and its been the best arpg experience i've ever had poe has a big problem of being unable to just pick up items and use them. you have to spend loads of currency to modify and upgrade before things become usable even for the uniques. to me it devalues the actual drops and the feeling of getting items pretty significantly. the only thing i get any rush from is picking up high tier currency It's not just about not being able to self find enigmas and botd pieces. It's about how for any given build, some absurd amount of items you find are going to just be ducking worthless outright except for their value in a trading system. Now when I was playing on bnet this wasn't negative, it was part of the charm even, but I just can't recommend it to someone who wanted a game with a standout loot system(which when I think of what that means to me at least is that I find item drops to be rewarding, exciting, useful, but not spoonfed either, and d2 just doesn't cut it in the modern day, which isn't to say the game itself isn't still fun). haven't tried grimdawn yet but i haven't found any newer game that matches what i want to be doing in an arpg as closely as d2 between d3, poe, torchlight 1 and 2, titan quest
d3 was great from ~2013 until they added greater rifts then the game got really stale really quickly and they kept increasing the legendary drop rate and handing out perfect gear until it wasn't even fun anymore
d3 had the best feeling combat and most fun builds for me

Man I would have liked to keep playing eternal but after grinding during the beta I got maybe a tenth of what I had grinded when they ended the beta. Couldn't even remotely begin to build any decks that I cared about and I had already been through the newbie grind once so I stopped playing. Felt bad, it's a good game.

Honestly I'm really only going to play it for limited most likely and build up slowly towards constructed decks just like IRL with MTG, but in this case I'm not going to have to throw money at it. It's win win for me, and I LOVE that it's a REAL draft format.

While I was playing it I did a real draft one time for some starting quest where you had to do a real draft. I promptly lost every game in the most horrible fashion possible every time and concluded that the forge was where a clueless pleb like me belonged. Drafts are hard, man, people are smarter than the AI.

I dislike limited type of games so also kind of got off Eternal. Couldn't make any kind of ok deck after playing it for a few weeks. Compared to Shadowverse when I played like 2 weeks and can make 1/2 decent decks. Dislike how limited focus card games are.
Hope Gwent isn't like that. Really looking forward to it.
edit: Well HS is just "pay us money while we do jack shit" focused.

If it makes you feel any better, when I made my computer I got a mobo/cpu deal from a retailer and had to send it back(which involved an hour drive both ways) because the mobo wouldn't read ANY ram, regardless of compatibility. So when I got home with a new one and get it going, my CPU fan doesn't spin because the wiring ever so slightly touched the fan blade and stopped it from moving. Actually I'm just an idiot. I didn't seat the RAM properly. Luckily I didn't end up re-purchasing anything unnecessary; a helpful Micro Center employee steered me straight. Now I have an AMAZING rig. I gotta try streaming on it soonish.
Specs? I think I'm gonna start planning out my new rig. All I know right now is I want a 1080

What features set it apart from Diablo 3, path of exile, or Torchlight? I see that I've played titan quest in my steam library, but I don't remember it.

There is also a devotion system (basically masteries) which lets you customize a bit more. There are more bosses and non trash mobs compared to d3. Haven't played path so can't say anything about it. It isn't really revolutionary or w.e. Just a solid arpg.

Speaking of Titan Quest 2, I got it in some bundle ages ago and never tried it, has it aged well enough to be worth playing still?
