I've got more hours in that than in any other game and I still have never gotten a HR to drop normally. Nor have I ever gotten a SoJ. Perfect Raven Frost I did get. Definitely a fun game though. I think my highest value drop was early in ladder a JMOD with near perfect def. Sold it for loads of fg. Also had a 40/15 jewel and some other crap. And Infinity+Lightning sorc was so fun.

Well, I'm just too young I guess, plus according to my parents games are the source of all evil, so I didn't really have a choice. Would have loved to play those games though.

Got a bunch of games, including Pokemon, FF once I got into that (I played 7 in 2004 I think? that's when I started RPGs and realised that games had a story—Tintin in Tibet's was following the album which I already knew, so it's different). First "gaming" foray was probably Warcraft III, where I knew 2-3 BOs for Night Elves switched depending on match-up, and never made it too far (play time was limited too, and connection not that great), and a bit later Broodwar when I actively tried to get better.

Although, Dritors is amazing, by the same author who did Hellsing, so it's over the top and everyone is insane.

Mirai Nikki is pretty great too, I just didn't like how the heroine was psycho and all. The first game I ever played was probably Pokemon, not counting arcade games.

My first 3 games were Jet Set Willy, Manic Miner and Skyroads. Now those are proper old games. For anyone who knows my tastes in things, would I probably enjoy Gantz? It sounds like the kind of thing I'd like.

If you're into 'death games' as it were then yes Gantz should be right up your alley. Also red reading most of these first games yes, we are old as shit.

But yeah, the beginning/middle was amazing. I think the first game that I remember playing and appreciating as a game instead of just a distraction as a kid was either Pokemon or Metal Gear Solid. I had an NES, but just played Mario and Duck Hunt, and never "seriously", if that makes sense? Like, I never learned the tricks or sat down long enough to get "good" and didn't appreciate that you could be good at games until after that.
