Gaiz pls Dunno mebbe I was just stressed and emo at the time---the people who stuck around seemed to really like/enjoy the game. I've never played DnD and i'm pretty sure that whatever setup you guys had in mind originally I said I didn't have time for ![]()

Other people are really tryhard and douchey when they play and make it impossible for anyone to have fun because they feel the need to describe every detail of their Mary Sue character every two seconds.

If one person is seriously roleplaying and another is half-assing it, no one is having fun. You need to be able to turn off your self-awareness and just play pretend, which is harder than it sounds for some people. Other people are really tryhard and douchey when they play and make it impossible for anyone to have fun because they feel the need to describe every detail of their Mary Sue character every two seconds. I found the easiest way to get around self awareness is to use chatrooms, or roll 20. Also, since people were talking about rulesets, I've always liked Pathfinder da bes.

How did the ICCUP guys manage to make ping pretty much non-existent? It's such a bitch to play with like .3 sec delay. Wtf I just played this yesterday and then I told myself for the 10th time, never again.

I'm just trying to win 1v2 hardest computers but struggling. Run out of gold before I can finish and then don't have any siege units to break through.

They take out all the rules that bog down the parts of roleplaying that aren't the interesting parts of it anymore anyway now that we have video games when we want to generate random numbers for killing imaginary orcs. The purpose of rules in roleplaying is to create variation and surprises so that there's some aspect of the story that's outside of the storyteller's direct control forcing you to improvise. The problem is that with D&D's rules being so combat-centric, failure tends to just involve a main character dying. Depends hugely on the GM imo. Some GM's will make you roll through every little thing, some GM's will make the story more free flow and skip some skill checks, etc etc. I don't mind the strong combat-centric rules in combat, but sometimes those multi 1 dice rolls make me want to punch babies.

I fucking love xmas. Although I didn't end up packing last night (Smite with ComaDose more important obv), so I'll have to do that after work. Looking forward to a ridiculously full house. My 2 friends that GM do a pretty good job with our campaign. They're reasonable about most stuff and incredibly patient with us, especially considering there's usually 6-8 people in our party all drunk as hell lol. I mean, I'd still prefer Neal (Neil?) as a GM, but...

For what it's worth when I traveled in Europe we did it mostly by train/bus/boat. But then when we were doing that we were spending our time mostly in countries closer together than that (croatia, montenegro, italy, greece). I think it really just comes down to how much time you have and how much time you want to spend per country, each country easily has enough stuff in it to occupy you for a week if you look it up ahead of time.
