There are a lot of games like that. Things and Cards Against Humanity to name a couple.

That being said, I'm total scrub tier at AoE2. EDIT: so apparently more family members are coming over for Christmas dinner than I had anticipated, so I guess I'm going Xmas shopping tomorrow. LOL.

It doesn't help that D&D is probably the most prolific roleplaying system despite being one of the absolute worse ones to start learning to roleplay with. It's extraordinarily rules-heavy which adds a lot of tedium to GMing, while at the same time not really being a very *good* set of rules for what it does (D&D's core rules are overly combat-centric). Freeform systems are honestly better to learn to roleplay with.

The purpose of rules in roleplaying is to create variation and surprises so that there's some aspect of the story that's outside of the storyteller's direct control forcing you to improvise. The problem is that with D&D's rules being so combat-centric, failure tends to just involve a main character dying.

However, that's going to be quite the long while I think. However I will try and come up with a character soonish. Hoping to use some break time to figure some of that out.

I have very little actual role play experience, only having played ~4 sessions of DnD Next with friends
