all the things that came to mind: 1) writing your manifesto and ordering ak47 rounds. maybe putting the final touches on your kill list 2) finding out you were finally promoted in your cult 3) answering a particularly raunchy OKcupid.com message. or LeCupid.com cause France 4) clearly not doing any work is probably posting on some weird forum to another lonely user avoiding work because marking exams is literally the worst thing about teaching - and also the most depressing haha. ps Cupid looks REALLY weird to me. that ever happen to you guys? every once in a while shoe will look super weird and I refuse to believe it's spelled right. pps @alaric and your co-workers are also thinking this. probably #1. I'd start bringing in donuts to work. ppps @scip stepdad worked at home so I couldn't sneak it ![]()

Also it seems like I wouldn't really have done much work anyway, I've been trying to find bugs or oversights from the developers of the stuff we've taken over for 2 days now and after some more tests it looks like it doesn't come from their additions but was a flaw in the base software anyway. Welp, gotta report it and move to another bug while waiting for the software developer to issue a hotfix. Cupid does sound a bit weird, but that's because in French the name's Cupidon, while "cupide" is a synonym for greedy, grasping (I assume cupid exists in English but isn't too common). ... I read your post in several takes, jumping the numbered list at first, so when I saw "Cupid" I assumed you were mentioning it because of the Smite God (his art differs a lot from the rest of the game). Ugh. So Smite official TLLoLOTGD now, I guess? x_x ^ find another game, preferably one that you won't have to much trouble to get out of once you get your drive back. Pester Cheep for book recommandations. Go take a walk in the neighbourhood if it's fine. Start watching a new series. Learn Go and laugh at how you get stomped harder than you ever were in League. Hail Kaolin our god and spam games of him. Train your rage-o-meter on

Also I've got 2 teaching friends JonGalt, so I can sympathise with the marks thing. One of them doing a work placement (her first big experience) and last week she told me she was already looking forward to June, then went to sleep at 8 PM, too tired of her days. The other one's on his second year, and he pretty much disappeared, sometimes for weeks last year, as he was prepping his classes, dealing with the homework... and doing the marking. He teaches English in some junior high school, the first few times he reappeared apart from holidays were the week-ends after test weeks, because he'd pop on irc while using the pc to distract himself between two stacks of papers, and he'd sound disheartened the whole time. It's quite better this year, now that he's more experienced and can reuse a bunch of his content from the last one so he doesn't spend so much time alone working on his stuff. ![]()

My sister is a history teacher in Georgia (the state). She mainly teaches grades 6-8. Her students: - 1 was 16 in the 8th grade but owned his own landscaping business where he *supposedly* made more money than my sister does/yr. - 1 girl was pregnant at age 13 - 1 boy was home schooled until the 6th grade, and only went to public school due to his mom not graduating the 6th grade so was not legally allowed to teach him any further. He couldn't really read/write very well so my sister taught him that while teaching him history - At one point my sister taught in a poorer district with a majority of black students. When Obama was elected they legit told her that they were "not going to work anymore" because their mom told them that "Obama is going to take care of us." My sister had to explain to them that Obama actually went to school to get to where he is now and that they're not going to get a free ride lol And then there are other basic silly things as well but that's typical teacher stuff. I know she sometimes gets so stressed out from all the grading work and lesson plans that she's near tears sometimes. Rough life. =/

On November 26 2013 20:26 Scip wrote: also the rest of the United States? Not really? I grew up in the North and such a thing was basically unheard of. It's only after moving to the South that I saw it really often. I know my graduating class in Florida was actually a "good" class because we only had 1 girl pregnant. (We had 2 big competitor schools in our area: Nature Coast and Springstead. Nature Coast was considered to have an extremely good daycare system. The joke was that the Springstead students would drop off their kids at Nature Coast's daycare for the day then go to school because Springstead was known to have really high pregnancy rates. So Nature Coast got a lot of practice taking care of children thanks to it ![]() lol

She used to play those dumb 1-hour trial puzzle games, until I showed her how to download them proper. Now she plays dumb puzzle games (without time restriction!)
