I'm surprised that you heard about it. I mean, at least it's pretty telling about our parties when the left wing is spamming usually-right-wing conservative measures.

To be fair, outside of your facist parties, right wing things for you is often central or left leaning stuff for us.

Well that was fucking awkward. My parents are sitting talking to their church pastor downstairs and I didn't hear so I stroll past to get my snacks ready for MSI. He says hi(I met him once) and asks if I wanted to join them for prayer... Turn him down politely then go to my card to put chalk back in but when I come back into kicthen to get snacks they going at it and I knock off a packet of chips to make a huge noise . Sigh. All I wanted was chips dammit.

I'm glad we see eye to eye on this.

I don't think that's actually possible however. On the other hand, Soniv actually sang. Yeah wtf? I don't run away from commitment. I don't commit to things when I know I can't follow through. Alaric, I know you have a hard on for making fun of me, but come on. It's incredible, I could hear you saying this in my head.

Well our "main" right-wing party is advocating stuff you'd only have heard from the ridiculous fascist extreme right not even 10 years ago. And our "main" left wing is doing... that right-wing stuff. And other stuff you'd have expected from the right wing a few years ago².
Meanwhile, the extreme right fascists are becoming mainstream. Fuck these Frenchies.

10 more hours until I'm not poor again. That MOX might have should have waited a few more weeks.

Also, the story on that French stuff was on NPR. Cause we're informed Americans, Alaric.

I've only recently (within the last couple months) started listening to NPR. It's only 5-10 minutes each way before and after work, but I've really been enjoying it.

Yup, it's so easy to stay up to date on most things.

You guys deserve to be made fun of for it. You've had over a decade of our shit to observe and say "hmm maybe this isn't a good idea".
+ Show Spoiler +I know it was against the majority opinion, but it's still fun to mock you for it. Misery loves company.

My two radio stations are NPR (the DC one is hosted at muh alma mater) and C-Span.
C-Span is great until they do the (Republican/Democrat/Independent) caller segments. Those are literal cancer.
Also yes. French politics are arguably worse than US politics.

Isn't it a pretty good idea for politicians as it gives them even more power?

I'm trying to get OBS to do what I want it to do. If I can Fri/Sat seems possible.

I'm not so sure. I'll admit I don't know much of the details for Frenchie Baguette Act of 2015, and even the Patriot Act was when I was 11 or 12 (although I know a bit more about our version).
(Please correct me if I'm wrong) It can open up the doors and power to spy agencies (NSA, in our case). The NSA isn't really controlled by our government. They might be a government agency, but I wouldn't be surprised if they have dirt on most of our politicians in power. This can influence how they do things.
Removing the barriers to personal privacy seems like a pretty bad choice all around.
edit - note, this is a very cursory and generalist view of the situation
