That being said Poetry was my least favorite part of English, so I wouldn't be one of the participants.
I freaking hated poetry (or at least the poets that we got assigned, I like Byron, Blake, sandburg and some others but we didn't do those). only poetry I liked was Robert Browning and that was only one assignment where we got to pick our own poet.
unfortunately I'm probably going to have to take an English prose class for my communication studies degree.

I liked poetry, but its probably because of my poor writing skills. I think the only thing I enjoyed more was reading classic litterateur.

the watch is probably going to depreciate in value. think of it as an investment instead of a purchase
random stock market question. If you own stock you don't actually gain or lose money until you sell it is that correct or not?

I got a 100 on my econ final and didn't need some shitty poetry contest to do it.

Er, prose is the opposite of verse (poetry) so I don't see the problem?

I double checked and the course apparently covers both prose and poetry. I somehow confused prose for poetry lol.
also I don't like how much of comunications at least so far is actually giving speeches and the like, I prefer the more technical aspect of it to the performance aspect. I can live with it tough

I won my first round by a landslide, but I withdrew afterwards because I feel like I said all I wanted to. I think there were 68 entrants, it was in NCAA March Madness style brackets. Pretty interesting to watch and be a part of. QUESTION: How does your school have 68 people willing to complete in a poetry slam bracket? Did they let 32 of you enter twice? Or did people have byes? First round was mandatory for all people in honors English. Marmy isn't honors English so he wasn't in it. What the fuck does honors English have to do with poetry slam that it is mandatory? I'm going with English class covers poetry? What about poetry does not fall under English class? We covered poetry in my classes... But why is it mandatory? Forcing your students to recite in a school-wide poetry contest? Makes no sense at all. My class committed to our school's first ever Senior Skip Day. The next day they sat us down, yelled at us for 2 hours, and then made us do an afternoon of yard work around campus. Schools are fucking stupid. edit - this is mostly unrelated, but I felt like complaining about it because it's hilarious looking back yard work? 50~ people in your graduating class? wtf kind of school did you go to? private school \o/ More like privilege school.
