Oh yes I'd love another cascode current mirror, thank you course administration.
Calculate transfer functions by hand of circuits with 6+ elements? No problem, let me just work that out on 4 sheets of paper.
Bleh.
one of the hardest exams i had in school for sure. 4 questions 2hrs hand hurting from writing so much by the end. proff said we can bring w.e. we want just no internet, good luck.
I'm starting to doubt my switching from Mechanical to Electrical...
Hopefully I just get it done and over with. Though I have a few more nice courses in the future.
Well Electrical isn't all electronic circuits so it's not too bad. There'll always be some part of the course you don't like. Myself was the raw chemistry(I know it's weird but Chem Eng isn't about Chemistry for the most part). Just have to power through it to get to the stuff you like
In all likelihood I'll have the most trouble with Electromagnetics and other physics-related stuff. Electives are looking really nice though, I'm going the route of medical systems and imaging technology.
thats pretty cool i worked for a while for a company that provided generators for medical equipment like x-rays. special requirements because they need to fire up and be consistent and turn off really fast. other "fun" related courses i had to take included signal processing, and control systems. ugh those were fucking hard but also the prof was a shitter.
I hear you brother. Electromagnetics and that kind of physics just owns me. Had circuits as well. Hate them so much that when we did heat transfer via radiation I hated that too just because the standard way of thinking about it is basically circuit theory. It's actually funny how many things boil down to every similar logic. Even mass transfer looks very similar to circuit theory with how concentration gradients/driving force works.
The fields are so vast that school is only meant to dip you into everything so you can get an understanding of what you may be interested in.

Some people like to get amped up for stuff like that. Others like to chill and meditate with a few "ohhhhmmmmmmmmmmm"s. Just gotta figure out what you need.
Eh it was OK. Idea was fine, execution was a bit forced. Much like writing a sonnet, this kind of stuff needs to be pulled off without any sense of strain, or else the flaws are magnified and really detract from the overall effect. 6/10.

I'm surprised I even got a 6/10 for that. I forced that really hard. But thanks for being so positive.
(I also don't know a ton about electrical currents. It's been 6 years since I took any kind of physics, and even then, currents were up there on the list of struggles for me, next to fluid dynamics)

Whoa Fluid dynamics isn't bad. You just have to spend a lot of time wrapping your head around your system and accurately describing that system. Once that's done it's almost plug and play. The only other part that can get really bad is if your notation is off. Got to get so finicky with notation otherwise you land up using the wrong Gibbs or wrong type of quantity for the system you working with. Idk maybe it's just coz Fluid dynamics is such a big part of my course I say this

Well, the biggest issue was that I took regular physics junior year, and then AP physics senior year, but my regular physics teacher taught us almost nothing. He was, by far, one of the worst teachers I've ever had. So I was sort of teaching myself physics as I was taking AP physics. Fortunately, my AP physics teacher was one of the best teachers I've had, so that was nice. I got through that class by understanding and adapting unit conversions - made formulas a lot simpler to retain.

It makes me feel warm inside.
I've paid my dues, I'm no longer required to give a shit.
edit - FYI I plan on streaming some Elite:Dangerous shenanigans this weekend assuming stream quality is good. Y'all can make fun of me as I blindly navigate the galaxy and fail at docking.
Every time I hear the name of that game I immediately hear
Sorta nsfw video
When you said 'I've paid my dues' I immediately thought Queen.
Also wtf is that generous 6/10 cheep? He barely deserves a 2.

Ah our Fluids course also let us bring in a 2 sheets of paper(4 sides) with formulae on it. Most of our Eng classes at uni actually were either open book or semi-open book in that we could bring in "cheat sheets" as long as they didn't have examples. Unit conversions are ridiculously important too. I'll never understand courses that require you to remember equations. So silly.
Oh man I wish the orchestra I was going to this weekend was that cool.
Also Cixah if I fly to Austin in June would you hang with me?
Totes. Just let me know. I think I'm going to the xgames stuff for dota to hang with peeps too so it could be cool.
There's a wargaming convention on the 18-21 that I'm considering going to. Would be cool to chill too.
That sounds pretty cool. Yea, I have off on the 20th and 21st baring rampant destruction of everything. They're is a bunch of super awesome places to eat in austin too, especially downtown. LMK when you decide and I can meet you up there that weekend.

yeah its like the step up from the 'no calculator' bullshit that happened in highschool.
what do you do that has so much fluid dynamics? i only took one course and the teacher was great so i did well.

I study/studied Chemical Engineering. We basically had fluid dynamics split into 3 courses. Thermoes 1/2 and then a Fluids course that involved more static fluid and heat transfer. Then obviously had the more combined project type courses that involved a bit of everything. I'm also not sure if you count mass transfer(diffusion) as part of fluid dynamics, I don't think so?
The no calculator BS is just teachers being unable to set real papers. If you can use a handheld calculator to solve the problem then well you didn't set the problem properly.
