The "too easy" criticism was targeted at some in particular, like the stairs one: while it doesn't take away from the writer's, well, writing, he's still drawn the content from well-known/basic creepy-pastas so there's less coming up with a concept and balancing it and presenting it that's going on. It's more "exploitation" than "creation" in a way, which tends to make me frown because I'm excessive like that. There's one on the nine-tailed fox that I quite liked because it drew from the mythology but pointed out differences instead of simply repeating the characteristics (iirc the retrieval team is made up of a Korean and two Japanese, the latter acting casually because contrary to the Korean lore "their" foxes are often benevolent), up till the point where it gets into a description of how rotten the corpse the fox disguised as their meal is. It's like watching a HBO series and going "So I just watched a fully exposed 2 minutes sex scene that brought nothing to the plot that couldn't be shown in under 10 seconds, what was the point?", but instead of using sex and violence as appeal some of these stories use overly used cliches and gross. I tend to prefer the other ones because they tend to rely on these crutches way less (partly because thre's oftimes less popular material to reuse) and to make up for it the concept is more thought out. TL;DR: I'm a whimpy wuss uneasy at night and I easily lash out at stuff I deem "lazy/easy" so I combo it out not to like creepy-pasta stuff. PS: fuck you with that spoiler Req (I'm not even sure what it is, bottom was cut out). PPS: think about us EU guys, you start posting at all (let alone shitposting) around 2 hours before I leave work at best. I'm so alone~

I'm actually going to have to accomplish work pretty soon here if this keeps its pace. You can do better. agreed @Req: I've seen that gif. I was pretty into creepypasta a couple years ago. I used to be really big into it, watching youtube stuff and spending time on /x/, starting to get inot it again. When I was young I never liked scary stuff, but now I love that feeling of fear. It's just so fun when your hair stands up on edge and every door opening is a rush.

As for using gore/horror as a way to spruce up stories, well I guess that's personal preference. The SCPs that just read like lab reports are cool, but for me it's once you start to read the disgusting/horrific details that it really comes to life.

"When I was young, paleontologists were positing the idea that the meteor impact threw huge amounts of dust in the atmosphere, and cooled the climate, leading to slow deaths from starvation and exposure as the ecosystem collapsed. Newer models of the impact and its effects, however, suggest that it was an almost unbelievably catastrophic event. The meteor impacted to the east of modern mexico with a force equivalent to a billion of the atomic bombs dropped on Japan in WW2. In the area immediately under the impact, the superficial 3km(1.8 miles) of crust are simply vaporized upon impact. The impact site is temporarily hotter than the surface of the sun. All of the crust in a circular area 100km(62 miles) around the impact site, to a depth of 11km (7miles) was jettisoned outside of the atmosphere, though still within earth's gravity. This would have dimmed the lights, sure, but the real damage occurs when that material comes back down. As the ejecta re-entered the atmosphere, it 'burned up' on the way down, much the way small meteorites do. Ballistic models based on the calculated mass of ejecta re-entering the atmosphere suggest that an enormous amount of heat would be generated by this process, working out to about 10kW of energy per square meter. The sky glows red with heat, nearly the entirety of the earth's surface cooks at 315oC (600oF), the vast majority of the planet's forests spontaneously burst into flames. Every species of large surface animal roasts to death. Likely all the dinosaurs on the planet were dead in a matter of hours. Extinction patterns mirror this pretty closely. The survivors were small mammals that could burrow beneath the ground to escape the heat, toads, snakes, crocodilians that could seek shelter in deep waters. A single class of birds survives: A waterbird that nested in holes in the banks of lakes. Oceanic extinctions follow as huge amounts of ash flow into the oceans and acidify them, the dust still in the atmosphere chills the planet for a millenium afterwards. On the bright side, this cleared the slate and allowed for colonization of the surface for our furry, rodent-like ancestors."
