I found double healer to be very useful here, but that's my standard strategy to everything lol. Remember that for the purpose of support bonuses, dual guard, etc. you don't need to be paired up so you can save the pair ups for where the stat increases matter since you don't have enough units to block off all chokes. Also, it's better to put a unit one space behind the choke than actually in the choke since it reduces the surface area for ranged attacks. Yea, the first turn is the hardest lol. I had like 12 resets practicing that one. I just want to get the the missions with all the childrens. ALL THE CHILDRENS MOONBEAR. Do you know how skill inheritance works for children? + Show Spoiler [Fire Emblem Awakening] +The skill in the last skill slot for both parents are inherited by the child. This is important because it means fathers can pass on male-only skills to their daughters and mothers can pass on female only skills to their sons. The most important of these are probably Galeforce from the mother and Counter/Wrath/Axfaire from the father. There's also some odd ones like Luck+4 from Olivia or the Valkyrie ones for Rally bots but no one uses them anyway.
The skill inheritance is determined at the time you start the Paralogue where you recruit the child, so you have plenty of time to grind out the exact skills you want to pass down to your children and rearrange the list of skills to get the right one at the bottom of the list. Note that Chrom will always pass down Aether to his children btw although he has nothing interesting in his other classes anyway and Aether is an amazing skill.
Oh and don't forget that children have access to all classes of their parents! Although interestingly some characters with gender-only classes will pass on different classes to their kids. For example, Gaius will pass on Pegasus Knight to his daughters instead of Fighter. That's roughly what I got from it too. I noticed that + Show Spoiler +had Sol on her even though she is supposed to be a Manakete. Also this is why I am trying to grind out all of these skills and stuff.
The goal right now is to get Cordelia to pass on Galeforce, Vaike to pass on Sol, and for Severa to learn Lancefaire. For all the damages at the end of the game.

For all the damages at the end of the game. + Show Spoiler [Fire Emblem Awakening] +Sevara is a Mercenary so she promotes into the Hero class and therefore learns Sol by herself so that's a complete waste. Vaike being a Fighter has the bonus of being able to pass down one of Axefaire/Wrath/Counter which are all male-only and far, far superior options to pass down anyway. Also, Axes are much better than Lances and from a roleplay/lore pespective having Sevara as a Hero is much better anyway.
Remember, when you Second Seal from a promoted class you can change to another promoted class so after you obtain Sevara you can promote from Mercenary into Hero, get Sol and then Second Seal into Dark Flier/Falcon Knight anyway.

Why would Yango try to power-level a RPG character? Obviously he's learning to minmax shit so that he can out minmax his players as a GM.

And way before I was on TL, I was on the CharOp boards for 3.5, so its more refreshing my memory than learning.

Oh, yeah, what I meant was that I envisioned you more as the curious guy putting his analysis to use to deal with the munchkins than as the one doing the munchkining himself in general, you've posted enough on the topic that we know you aren't knew to various rulesets.

My favorite is a dungeon vs illusory monsters and Illusion mages with a lot of physical traps like pitfalls or false doors that separate the party.

Buddy just gave the greatest argument for Dota ever, there is a Meepo set where his weapon is a frying pan. Why beat people with sticks, when you can bash them over the head with a frying pan?

The growth rate in shadow dragon is making me a sad panda.

What makes me a sad panda is the lack of interest in getting some rift playing together.
