Huh, for me it was the opposite. Wasn't a big fan of dailies, liked day9's casting a LOT though

Like over the top fake enthusiasm, and it just started to rub me the wrong way. Also wasn't really a fan of the common Husky+day9 combo, nor the itmejp+day9 combo.

Yeah, itmejp and djwheat both were really bad. I guess I didn't watch much at all after the initial year of sc2 release which might be why I remember day9 to be so good.

I'm watching mostly through the client

What does the hero distribution look like so far? I could swear I see the same 20 heroes every game with a few exceptions here and there. (Razor, ember spirit, tide, etc)

(Razor, ember spirit, tide, etc) skywrath/enigma/rhasta also very popular. Skywrath is a new one to me though, but hard to argue with 1k damage nuke + 6 second silence. Void also pretty popular right now. Even saw clinkz once.

Is there a reason why we don't see more shadow fiend? Everytime I see it played, if the team can funnel right amount of farm early on to it, it just seems to take over the game.

Kinda dumb how each dota hero has two names and the one commonly used is completely arbitrary. It would be like calling xin zhao 'seneschal.'

Clearly what I was looking for. there are close to 40 heroes picked in 10 games or more. i'd expect the distribution of picks to change as we go into bracket play and its not solely BO1's anymore.

SF plays like a balloon. easy to pop but gets big quickly if left unattended. SF is shut down pretty heavily by good ganks and TPs. he also struggles mightily against razor sapping all of his already crappy level 1 damage.

yea sorry rhasta's shadow shaman. I use whatever I'm most familiar with so it's like a weird combination of the hero's names and titles lol

Edit: Fucking Lysander casting yet another iG game, I am so sick of him. Fuck you and your casting choices Valve. How does Visage works with Drow? Iirc Drow sucks versus gapclosers and stuff like that (or she needs Abyssal Blade, and even then her ult gets disabled), if he a good peeler? Because of familiars to keep stunning people and zone them?
Drow turnsVisage birds into pushing machines because they count as ranged creeps for her aura, C9 give Aui far more farm than a standard Visage and he pumps out an Agh's really quickly for the 3rd bird and rushes towers down across the map with them. It's like 0 risk splitpushing.

What happened to him?

Isn't the bounty on them pretty high if they get popped, though? So it's not exactly 0-risk compared to PL or Naga (but comes online much faster I guess).

Skywrath's E was massively buffed in the last patch, the damage amplification on it at level 1 was doubled or something, to 36%? Huge one-point-wonder for any pick/gank comp I guess.
Skywrath, Tidehunter, Mirana in almost every game from what I saw. Void, Enigma, Rubick popular too.
And I went 8-2 on my smurf, Gold V. I wanted to be placed in Silver to goof around. T_T Smurfs and trolls too strong, I needed more smurfs against me. (Can confirm that Ziggs is stupidly low skill floor and annoying as heck to play against as soon as he gets Chalice. I really like Brand's comboing but it shines in longer fights, which don't happen in lane, and later on he easily gets popped so he can't stick around. I have my window of fun with him, kinda. :<)

The damage amp is nice but it's more about the instant silence. He destroys initiators with cast times like Void/Panda.
