Just a little disheartened. that's how I felt when I couldn't get my wireless to work for a couple months last year lol You went months without WiFi? wtf? What is this, prison? I went a week without home internet when I moved to a new place. That month's phone bill was not pretty. I camped out in the local coffee shop when I didn't have home Internet or two weeks. One of my old WoW tanks did this. Wasn't the best connection but he was always full of energy. "WE'RE GOING TO RAID THE FUCK OUT OF RAGNAROS AAAAAAAAH"

Okay, Windows crashed again, but I get this error code "kmode exception not handled."
Help pls. Might just take it into a computer shop tomorrow. Building a PC is easy, troubleshooting is hard.

Now you know how I feel when I'm trying to figure out why wiring is bad...
Your pain is felt, friend, it is felt deeply...

Sounds like a driver or RAM issue.

I feel so lucky that my computer just seemed to work when I turned it on for the first time and that all I ever had to worry about was accidentally plugging power into the wrong sockets of my motherboard and causing my sound card to catch fire.

That could easily be RAM though, because Windows 8 takes up far more than Ubuntu.

My BIOS shows both of my RAM sticks being installed. Best course of action to see if one of them is messed up?

I finally got around to doing a fresh install of Windows so I'll do that after it's finished. GParted was much more cooperative this time.

I'd check driver issues first before I ran memtest, but if you continually crash before you can even launch anything to install drivers then RAM starts to become a likely culprit(crash because no resources) and also happens to be easily testable in DOS.

It's been really inconsistent with how long it takes before it crashes. Install actually went off without any problems this time so that was something at least.
Edit: jk randomly froze again lol.

What are your specs? i'm wondering if your PSU is underspec'd or some really shoddy reputation or maybe you have a ram/mobo compatibility issue
