Because in all seriousness I don't know how I'd (try to) paint one of these and not make an absolute mess of it. Yeah, this is the one I'm entering in the painting contest on Sunday. How long really depends on model and level of detail. When I did the first batch of models from the Battleforce (20 Warriors, 5 Deathmarks, and the first Overlord), I think I did the lot of them in a few evenings, but I was also still learning.
It's not difficult, per se, unless you want to be absurdly detailed and fancy about it. For example, the Immortals I'm working on now are just a Leadbelcher base coat, wash with Nuln Oil, and then layer in Runefang Steel. That gives it some depth in the metal body. Then the shoulders and wiring in a layering of navy into blue followed by light blue/blue grey highlights. Highlight edges all over in gold, white, and grey. A single model is only really limited by the amount of time it takes each layer to dry, so you do it in a factory line of the models.
Basically it's easy if you break it down steps. Prime the model (easy since I spray that part, most people use black for everything since it's easier, but white and grey are used occasionally too). Base coat it in the color that will be the largest portion (in my case, gunmetal). Use a wash or glaze (any watery paint) to get into the corners and bring out the details. Layer and highlight the raised areas to make them pop. Repeat this for each area of interest.
For example, a Space Marine will generally be done this way: Prime black. Base coat the color of the armor. Wash in the matching color. Highlight edges. Paint Shoulder pads. Base gun/backpack/other metal parts in gunmetal. Wash with oil wash. Highlight gun/backpack/other metal parts in silver. Detail model (generally things like red eyes, painting gems, etc).
Most large portions of a model can be broken down into that same Base -> Wash -> Highlight model, and then you get all the small bits with detail work. It takes a while to get used to paint consistency and brush control, but after that it's not bad.
The model I pictured was just primed black yesterday, last night in ~4 hours I based it Navy, hit the recesses with bronze, and then the pilot and cockpit with gunmetal. Next step will be cleaning up the navy (since there's flecks of gold and silver) washing everything in the right color, and then doing edge highlighting and detailing.

We have a DotA thread, so in all seriousness, it would make more sense for TI/etc. discussion to go there. I can also start updating the learning content there for the 10000th time if people care. I enjoy doing stuff for this community a lot more than LD anyway, so whatever. I was just joking haha. I don't mind seeing this sort of stuff from time to time.

So apparently puppies gain another 15% of their body weight. Every day.

I tried calculating how much I'd weight if I started at 8lb and gained 15% every day up until today and Google calculator told me it was Infinity but I'm not the best at math.

Huh where have they put the LoL forums now? As long as I am not logged in I can not find them anywhere. It is not even under "other games", it is nowhere.
If it stays like that they become impossible to find for anyone who does not already use them regularly. Becomes basically a hidden section, for insiders only. Which also has its own charme I guess. :D
But in all seriousness, I think I will be looking for a different forum. Just sucks because of the connections I also have to sc2. But do any decent alternatives actually exist? There only seems to be reddit, which I hate for various reasons.

So I'm going to play/stream more DS today (can't decide if I want to take a nap with time off this afternoon and play later/usual time or play some during time off).
Should I go back and revisit the places I 'should have done' already? (ie the rest of Darkroot garden that I somehow missed? Valley of Drakes that I supposedly could have gone to despite me going in and being terrified of the shit that attacked me there, New Londo Ruins?) Does it matter?

Yeah, and idk if I ever really apologized to you guys. The couple times I wanted to become a writer were times I was subsequently losing interest in the game shortly there after. And I realize that my flakiness hurt others and feel pretty bad about it in general. It's a character flaw that I'm trying to work through - I get really interested in something, but don't have the time to commit to all the things I'm interested in.
I know probably no one blames me, but I can't help but feel somewhat responsible.

With small staff you guys should be looking to do more indepth articles that come out on maybe a monthly period that talk about overall strategies coming from regions, or perhaps talking strictly about pick/ban from teams.

Or screw LCS and just cover Korea. Pieces about OGN were my favorites, they were what initially got me into watching Champions. And I personally don't think there was much to cover in this season of NA LCS because the only team that was suprising in how well it did was Dig, and Crs in playoffs I guess.

Honestly, this is what I'm planning on doing from here on out. Things that are less "structured," more passion-based, more in-depth, or some other kind of deeper dive/guide.
A lot of people gave this criticism, both internally and externally, and we didn't listen to those good points quickly enough. For the Summer Split we were thinking of a full revamp of how our coverage worked. Then we couldn't get like... Weeks 9, 10, or 11 for NA published and I imploded a bit. Since I was trying to organize NA coverage at the time, that's when it came to a screeching halt overall.
Obviously Chexx is still balling out with his OGN stuff, so there's that at least. Kyrie's strategy articles, when he releases them, are great reads and should be discussed by anyone who enjoys talking strategy here. There are a few TL projects that I have in mind that I still want to complete, but they'll be slow. Other than that, I'm hoping that some of my passion comes back so I write more of the kind of stuff I listed above when Summer Split rolls around again.
I'm also planning on writing for other parts of TL too though. I maintain my love for this organization so I also want to help in ventures they consider to be "best for the site." However, I never plan on leaving this community behind because, let's face it, this is what I do all day.

Chexx is obviously going to keep running KR coverage, and I believe Kyrie will be working with him from here on out (he intended to earlier this year at least). Kyrie was one of the most consistent and quality writers that we gained in 2014, so you should look forward to that.
Stupid as it is, I'm pretty attached to NA. But then, if there's nothing to write about (and there often isn't), maybe I'll figure something else out too.

Eh, I do the same damn thing. It'll come back to haunt me some day. Usually it does in the fact that I'm shit at video games/am still spending money on that FFXIV subscription that I don't use. Thanks for the apology, but it's totally unnecessary. <3 u bb

I dont get how you guys writing some articles matters so much. Honestly I visit this site for forum discussions, live threads and such. Articles are maybe some icing on top, but not really a core thing.
The important part for TL should be number of clicks in a given sub forum to judge its importance.
