Dawn of War deployment, the Scouring. Because we spread out the objectives and he deployed into his two corners, the battle ended up split into two sides. On my left side, his Sky Ray, Riptide, and Commander + Crisis Suits faced off against my Warriors, Tesla Immortals, a Barge, and Destroyers + Lord.

My Ghost Ark got blown up turn 1, but the Warriors hunkered down on the 4 point objective and just took some potshots. The Barge didn't do much, but the Immortals and Destroyers stripped both Drones off the commander and wounded one of the suits. On Turn 2, my Gauss Immortals came in and wrecked his Sky Ray by dropping right on it.

My Tesla Immortals basically just sat on the middle objective, shooting what they could (AP- not great against this list, though) and holding 3 points in some ruins. His Sunshark flew overhead and lobbed a bomb at them, but didn't do anything thanks to scatter.

His Riptide and Commander Squad shot the crap out of my Destroyers, killing 4 and putting a wound on the Lord. However, he decided to charge the Lord, which was a mistake. A S7, AP2, T5, 2+ character with MSS and a 4+ Resurrection Protocols is pretty damn scary. In fact, he's so scary, that he singlehandedly killed the Riptide, Commander, and both Crisis Suits before finally falling.

The other side of the table was much less interesting. 3 Heavy Destroyers camped the objective the whole game with a Barge, facing off against 2 Devilfish with Fire Warriors and a Hammerhead. Over the course of 7(!!) turns, they wrecked a Devilfish, blew up the Hammerhead, and the Barge massacred a bunch of Fire Warriors thanks to Tesla procs. Their shooting back managed to kill the Heavy Destroyers, but not until turn 5. Prior to that, they'd shot down the Destroyers, who promptly stood back up with some sick Resurrection Protocol rolls.

As the game went, I held 3 objectives for the whole game while he had none until the final two turns. He ended up with two objectives (2 and 3 points) and a Fast Attack kill, while my lone remaining Destroyer capped me a fourth point. Game ended 10-6 in my favor, though it was a rough battle on both sides.

If he'd brought more troops, I think he could have camped objectives better and made it closer. But he was running this big vehicle and suit list, trying to shoot everything off the board. His big mistake was charging my Destroyer Lord with his big scary Riptide and Commander. If they'd been out shooting things, I might have been in more trouble. As it was, not only did I tarpit them for several turns, but he also ended up murdering them.

As for my army, well, the Heavy Destroyers made their points back easily killing those two vehicles and standing up a few times. Had they been moving and shooting, they probably could have survived much longer, but I tried to just camp the objective.

The regular Destroyers... they did ok. They killed some Drones and wounded a Suit. They hung out with the Destroyer Lord and helped with the tarpit. The last one zoomed over to get an objective. They did pretty good. But for a 200 point squad, maybe not good enough. For the same price, I could have had 5 Wraiths with a couple upgrades. However, if they hadn't been with the Lord, if they'd been zipping around shooting things... I think they could have contributed more. But I did lose 4 of them the first time they got shot at, so I dunno. I feel like they could have contributed some more, but they'd have to kill a lot to make those points back. I feel like they might be pretty good against a MEQ or worse troop-based army.
