But when I dropped the "L" bomb on her, she told me that she's not the type to fall in love fast and that she needs a long time to say it. I get that, I do. She also said that she grew up in a house where she never heard her parents tell each other they loved each other more than a couple times in her life, being a traditional asian family. But it's been a couple months since I said it now, and she still hasn't given any sign that she's going to say it, and she always looks a bit uncomfortable when I do. Maybe she's still in the "I don't know how I completely feel about you yet" stage, but you think after six months she'd start to have an inkling at least. I mean, I don't know. I don't blame her, I'm not mad at her, but every time I want her to say it and she doesn't, it hurts. I feel like I'm not good enough of a person to have earned it yet. Not that she makes it that way, that she's punishing me or something, but you just know what I can be like. What I have been like. I'm trying really hard not to be that guy anymore, but I'm afraid that I'm not trying hard enough, that I'm still the person whose personality has ruined so many relationships in the past. This girl lights up my days. She's the last thing I think about before I fall asleep and the first thing I think about as soon as I can have a conscious thought in the morning. Getting a message from her is enough to make my head spin and clear away any bad juju the day has brought. And to see her in person, my mind just blanks and I can't think of anything but her. She's so easy to talk to, and I've been able to just sit and talk with her like I've known her for years. I feel, I dunno, content when I'm around her. Like just being with her and seeing her smile is enough to validate all the work I've done in my life to get to this point. And to hear her say just three little words would be the best thing on the planet, but every time she doesn't it just makes me feel like I've failed in some way. Whatever, this is stupid. I'm going to bed. | ||

It may be a little early to worry about it right now as you guys are only 6 months in, but ultimately that's your call. This could very well be a deal breaker for you, but know that it's your decision whether you want o make it as such. Whatever you decide and whenever you decide it, it will be the right decision. Just make sure you make that decision for yourself (ie don't let her string you along for another 2 years let's say if she still isn't 'sure') and not for her. | ||

But really lets look at this and see if we can help you because it seems to mean that much to you and we at TLLOLOT thread always back up our homies! (well maybe not the last couple posts, quickly ditching Req for your love for eggs.. shame on you guys) Quite the touching story overall and I hope it works out but my questions and critiques would be...I'm going to try and piece together your relationship and see but I'm mostly doing this out of memory from what you have posted before. How long have you two been dating? I think at one point you two were on vacation together right? I get that you are head over heels for this girl and you have every right to be but when gauging the moment to finally break the word "I love you" because from what I know of the asian culture, that is real serious, did you truly feel she was ready for it too? It's tough because that can easily scare someone off if they are not ready for that moment but the other person pushes for it. Additionally, have you kept saying the "I love you" words to her or did you at least back off a bit? It seems like she really likes you if you guys have made it this far, so don't be that down on yourself but things to work on would be: I get the whole over thinking aspect of it because I do the same thing with everything in my life. (hence why im scared of commitment and women in general when it comes to relationships... being friends is fine) but you have to dial it back a second and come to terms with yourself that you are doing a good job in the relationship because for one she is still dating you. Secondly, try and get a feel for where she is at in the relationship whether that be judging how deep she is in or by actually having a discussion about it (here's where the line of communication is key in a strong relationship). Lastly to make this post not quite too big, just keep on being the classic Req we all know and if shit is meant to be then one day this chick might actually bring into this world Mini-Req's. Just relax, don't over think the situation, keep on doing your thing, give her time, and enjoy every moment you can. It will all work out buds. Again, this is a rather quick and simple observation based on what little info I actually have and is basically meaningless. aka none of you should read this and if you have then you just wasted this time. blah blah my grammar is bad, I get it blah blah something about how I probably spelt something wrong. | ||
