Therefore, I'm sticking with the show in the knowledge that it will treat Feast for Crows better than the books did. That book was just totally unreadable for me.
EDIT: Not even if Req read it aloud The books, in fact, did not get worse. They built up to some awesome plot stuff in book 3, and in books 4 and 5 have moved backed to the more political stuff and plot development. This doesn't mean they've gotten worse, it just means that there's some more awesome coming. The political stuff, while it made it really dry, isn't why I started disliking it more. Honestly, to me personally, the violence just got too pointlessly crammed sometimes. It just felt like he just added violence for the sake of adding violence because, hey, the fans love that, instead of really needing it for the plot. I disagree wholeheartedly, but ok lol Show nested quote +On April 08 2014 00:01 xes wrote:On April 07 2014 22:41 jcarlsoniv wrote:On April 07 2014 22:28 AsmodeusXI wrote:On April 07 2014 13:41 Ketara wrote:On April 07 2014 13:37 caelym wrote:On April 07 2014 13:33 Ketara wrote:Okay so, now that I've seen it, here's my thoughts: + Show Spoiler +OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG + Show Spoiler +Brienne and Jaime are by far my favorites from this episode. I didn't like how the episode jumped around 10 different times just to revive each storyline. + Show Spoiler +It was a little slow, but it's the first episode of a season. They had to add dragon footage to show people what the new seasons special effects are going to be like. They had to introduce a new character with an entirely new family. They had to have an action scene so they put the bit at the inn in the end in there. If you remove those scenes really all that's left is centralized around two plot points, Geoffrey's wedding and related drama, and the attack on the wall.
I think it was fine. A bit slow. Joffrey Baratheon. Geoffrey Chaucer. *** THE MORE YOU KNOW *** Cross-reference with Amazon reviews for the internet's opinion. It's probably just "okay" but it's still a cheap tablet. That's what I'm in the process of doing. But I value the opinions of strangers I've spoken with slightly more than the opinions of random strangers on Amazon. I have no opinions on the tablet, but the deals on Woot are not nearly as good as you think they are. It's not that I think they're amazing. I've been considering a tablet for quite a while, but haven't ever pulled the trigger. Whenever one pops up on woot, it reminds me and I do a little research (hence why I keep asking). @Ketara: Nexus 7 always slips my mind, but I was looking at it this morning. It looks really nice, I just don't know if I've convinced myself enough on a tablet. Jeff is like 12 and need more sex and violence in his plot, politics will no suffice hue.
Jokes aside the political stuff is like my favorite part of the books haha.

Personally I don't have a smartphone (I don't like being connected to the internet while I'm out of the house) so I probably get a lot more use out of my tablet than other people will.
But once you have both you're obviously not going to want to watch videos on your phone.

They just need a foldable expanding LCD panel you plug into your phone.
Ubuntu for Mobile is supposed to have sweet docking features but that seems to be coming along as well as a Blizzard game.

Yikes. That stuff is always an "adventure." Much luck to you.

I don't think there is a family big dinner that is "normal". Everyone's family is crazy one way or another.
And really... How bad could a room full of tea drinking req's be???

Yeah I'm abnormal for my family yo

My [immediate] family get togethers are awesome, we're a small army by ourselves. Having 5 siblings definitely has its upsides.

I hear about this kind of thing all the time. Unfortunately I have basically no family on my mom's side, and my Dad's side the family is mostly spread out all over the place.

Just my mom and i for Easter this year. It will be nice. Hopefully my sister can't make it. We don't get along.

Sounds like my family. Grew up with 6 siblings and 2 cousins that lived close, and with one outlier we're all within a 10 year age grouping. Most of us still get to every holiday dinner. They've completely changed as we've aged as well. We used to joke around at our kids table then ditch to go play around doing whatever, now we enjoy some drinks with our aunt/uncle/parents and play a bunch of random games.

As long as your gf is able to adapt to different settings (like other family dinners), she will be fine. For me when I attended other family holiday dinners, I just figured out what their type of hobbies were and then stuck to getting them to talk. While also working the room by talking to as many different family members as possible.
Usually walked away with people having a high opinion of me.

. What can I say.... I'm just a nice, cool, calm, relatable and likable guy.

I have a fairly small immediate family, but both of my parents have 5 siblings each, and both sides live very near to each other.
Damn does that get hectic around the holidays.
