Hey all! I've decided I may as well start documenting my absolutely abysmal failures at everything LoL so you guys can now watch me/laugh at me/give me advice/feel a deep pity for me. I don't know if people will actually want to watch this, but I'll stream every so often anyway, along with some decent (and some bad?) music and mebbe some friends too.
Elo: 1400-ish
Role: More or less everything I'm one of THOSE. You know, the ones who still play Random in SC2 because they just like everything too much to decide. Except I'm bad at all of them. (Best at AP/jungler though, probs.)
Goal: To crawl my way up to Gold rating (that's 1520) by the end of Season 2

I dunno if you figured it out yet but click on your name in the top right, then next to the Admin: thing click on Edit WaveofShadow or w/e it says, then My Livestreams, then edit, then change it

Much <3! Thanks for all the compliments I got on my voice tonight guys! I don't honestly think I'm all that good but so long as I'm entertaining you guys that's all that matters.
I'm going to select one play from the inhouses I stream every night and turn it into an easily watchable highlight VOD on my stream channel. (The full night of inhouses will be there too if anyone wants to watch their performance.)
None of this probably deserves its own separate thread so I guess check back here or on my channel itself for the highlights.

I'd say the biggest problem is that you're alone: on the 07/17 VoD you mention being tired at one point, hence why you aren't too insightful/cheerful. Right before I was thinking "it looks kinda hard because he talks to himself, if he loses the flow there's nobody to help him back on track", and after hearing that I was all "well if he had a co-commentator he could rely on him, they'd be filling/completing each other when somebody doesn't know what to say". It showed a lot once Soniv was on because even tho neither of you talked too much, you'd point out stuff, throw a "what do you think of it?" to take turns and avoid blanks, and it was generally more lively.
The voice is fine, it's just you seem to enjoy it more when you're talking to somebody rather than mute viewers (can't be checking chat too often).
Of course having somebody else on to commentate with you regularly (or even picking a highish dude hanging out in LiquidTraining during the setup) isn't always possible. But it seemed like you enjoyed it more yourself when you had somebody else with you.

I'm hoping to be able to cast alongside Wave more often. The game the other night was not only our first time casting together, but also my frist time casting. I really enjoyed it, and I hope that others actually took something away from it. I feel like we worked fairly well together considering I've never done it before and it was our first time together.
But I agree with the sentiment that Wave has a great casting voice. Especially if he continues to have higher level players casting with him, he can gain insight for more commentary in the future.

Just a little feedback from my perspective for our guest commentators of the night, Sylverfyre and Ihavgudspelin:
Sylverfyre - Get a little more animated dude! Even if you're not going to be the colour commentator it doesn't hurt to get excited so your viewers can get excited and see your passion about whatever you happen to be talking about. If you see some major action happening somewhere don't be afraid to pick it up and interrupt whatever you were saying to catch it (or let me interrupt you! ).
Ihavgudspelin - Canadian commentary ftw. I think we worked pretty well together, probs just gotta work on talking over each other and stuff. I'm not sure again what kind of thing we were going for, be it colour/analysis or just a general sort of thing, but that's probably where a lot of our awkwardness comes in. Maybe work on your play by play so I don't always have to try and pick up all the fast-talking action in the teamfights!
Generally - Well done guys, especially if it was your first time! I know it can be daunting, and I'm certainly not perfect, just offering advice if you plan on doing this kind of thing more often. On the whole it can get a little awkward casting with new people since it's hard to know anyone's style right away. We talked over each other a lot and it's hard to prevent that sometimes. Overall I had a lot of fun and I hope you guys did too! Going to continue this over the rest of the week with whoever else would like to give it a go.

Also I'm not sure if this is the right place to talk/ask about this, but I have some really nice ideas of things I can do on stream that I think people might appreciate, but I'd like to try and get a little more popular first. (gonna try for that 20 tomorrow!) So to my viewers I ask, what do you think I can do to up the popularity of what I've been doing so far/my stream that fits within the bounds of what we're after at TL/Liquidpractice?

Hey Mindbreaker! Sorry was away for the weekend I meant to give you some feedback earlier.
You did a pretty good job casting and we didn't interrupt each other very much at all! Some good feedback I'd give you is probably that you should actually speak up a little more! Don't be afraid to give input of your own or pass along the casting to me if you don't have anything to say. Especially when Durr joined, you really clammed up there.

About Ez's build, I'd say he went for triforce/LW because Nocturne and Malphite are most likely to dive him in teamfights, so he'll have to deal with them primarily, and they're pretty tanky (FH and wriggles+aegis).

Wave, thanks for casting these games. It's really nice to be able to go back and see these games. There are so many little things that are more obvious looking at the cast then in game. I was lagging really badly on that Amumu game but that's not really an excuse, I just didn't really have much map pressure. Also, we had a lot of fights on top of Anivia ult.
On the Nocturne game I definitely should have followed up on ganking Karthus after he blew flash from my first gank; we 4 man dived bot with my ult but ez E+Flash along with a countergank meant that we didn't get away cleanly. I died in mid when I was stealing wraiths because I saw Rengar bot, but overestimated how long it'd take for him to get back to top side.
We worked on a ton of things today, with help thanks to skirms and your stream. (I was in 3, and I think these guys did even more before I was home?) I also saw areas to improve my play so again, thank you.

So apparently my internet shitting out shortly after casting last night was because my ISP was upgrading my connection. I managed to do some stream testing in between random outage periods and it appears I can stream decently at 1080p, though will probably opt for 720p since it's easier on viewers as well as my own bandwidth and CPU.
I was wondering if anyone well-versed in streaming/XSplit could help me out with re-optimizing my settings or offer any particular advice in here. (I'm honestly just looking for a way to shortcut the whole "go into an ARAM and test/record different settings")

My router died again. So:

Deckhand has charge with weapon equipped. He adds 2 damage
Kings adds 4 damage
Sunfury adds 2
Token adds 1
You had a total of 14 damage on the board without frostwolf and he had no taunts. He had 14 life. Just need to make sure to attack with deckhand before weapon or he won't have charge.

Yeah there were definitely a multitude of mistakes I made throughout these games---oddly enough I'm not sure the ones I actually realized I made were in games I ended up losing.
The games I lost I don't *think* I messed up too bad?

While I agree knife juggler is better, and he didn't have much to protect demolisher (so I thought knife juggler was a better choice there), his demolisher actually surprisingly did a lot of work that draft.

oh man, i remember these times
twitch chat isn't working for me - you aren't burdened by things in your pack - you get slower if you have heavier armor/weapons
also, you can sell things later, but for not a very large amount of souls - if you get a bottomless box, you can use it at bonfires and clear your inventory of any extraneous stuff (just to reduce clutter)

Yea... and just FYI you have items to remove poison, and you can buy spells to remove it too.

it's hard because it's hard, and because there's a learning curve to the controls
once you figure them out and have a better idea of how enemies attack, you won't struggle so much with the mechanics
edit: also, don't feel bad, I spent sooooooo much time in these early areas

Most of the things you missed were just stuff you probably didn't notice first time through. Although now that you got the Residence key, you should be fine now, since you now know what your objectives atm are (two bosses).
edit: And one tip that will help you forever. If you aren't blocking, let go of block. You gain back stamina way faster. Also get used to holding up shield right when you are about to be attack. Think of it as a much safer parry.

So I'm gonna do a viewer giveaway to celebrate the 100 follower milestone as soon as I finish the game. Going to pay it forward in a way and give away a copy of Dark Souls 2. I've set the rule that in order to be eligible you have to be following my stream and on the stream when I give it away, and it will be sometime before Saturday during my normal streaming hours.
