And best resume by far ? Far better than 4 gsl in a row achieved during his reign ? Ok. Rogue's achievements are pretty insane, but so are Maru's with 4 GSLs, a Super Tournament, an SSL, AND an OSL, also the Proleague performances, and WESG ok too but mostly, Maru has a lot more 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places than Rogue does yeah I think Maru is clear I used to believe in the Code S mystique more, but given what progamers admit themselves about their priorities, I think it's clear that the big money tournaments are significantly more important. Rogue is my all time GOAT Just because a tournament offers more money doesn't mean it looks better on your resume though, look at WESG and its 32-player pool where like only 4 or 5 are good Doesn't matter. The players care about winning WESG more than winning a "harder" $10k online tourney. Yeah, but what the players care about is meaningless in a GOAT discussion. Clearly it matters a lot. Or else we'd weight every wardi event with a stacked roster equally with the GSL. Players are better judges of stakes and what "matters" than fans. Yes but the koreans don't care meme aside, players prolly give their all to every lan tournaments with a +10k prize for the winner. you can't really measure it with any single factor no way a $200k WESG is more meaningful than a $100k IEM Katowice, with only 4 great players just because it's more money
but also no way a $5000 stacked tournament is as meaningful as a $100k Blizzcon even though Blizzcon has a smaller player pool

Didn't some Koreans say they liked international tournaments because it allowed them to travel? Does that mean Korean tournaments should be valued less?

The players care about winning WESG more than winning a "harder" $10k online tourrney Eh...sure given two tournaments at the same time, one with 60k and one with 20k, you will rather prepare and focus for the 10k one. However these tournaments don't happen at the same time exactly. And you would rather have 80k than 60k. There's also prestige and the level of play. GSL. Level of play is pretty consistent. You cannot say the same for the world championship or ESL and dreamhacks where you have two very clear tiers of players. The GSL is without a doubt a harder tournament. I can't see a world where someone would rather play Serral, Reynor and Clem than DRG, Hurricane and Dream. The top GSL players play in both kind of tournament. Yeah, all would agree the GSL group stages are not as super-competitive as they used to be, and I think the playoff stages of any international tournament is just as difficult as any GSL.
