Hellbats?

Speed banshees!

Ohhh, I'd take that one!

But I think Rogue is just already pretty dead

Haha yes, such half-hearted sneaking with banshees. I think the spores were already started before the overlord spotted the banshees too.

I actually don't get why rogue is so highly rated to be a goat contender, firstly I find dark on his best days more impressive and come on, he didn't win premier tournament or did super good during the kespa area like maru did

Maybe because he has the best resume by far ? [image loading]

2 iem katowice win, one blizzcon, one iem, 3 gsl code s, supertournament [image loading]

He has won the biggest tournaments, in all formats, [image loading]

But did so little during the most competitive area of the game.
And best resume by far ? Far better than 4 gsl in a row achieved during his reign ? Ok.

Rogue's achievements are pretty insane, but so are Maru's with 4 GSLs, a Super Tournament, an SSL, AND an OSL, also the Proleague performances, and WESG ok too
but mostly, Maru has a lot more 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places than Rogue does

yeah I think Maru is clear

I used to believe in the Code S mystique more, but given what progamers admit themselves about their priorities, I think it's clear that the big money tournaments are significantly more important. Rogue is my all time GOAT

Just because a tournament offers more money doesn't mean it looks better on your resume though, look at WESG and its 32-player pool where like only 4 or 5 are good

Doesn't matter. The players care about winning WESG more than winning a "harder" $10k online tourney.

Eh...sure given two tournaments at the same time, one with 60k and one with 20k, you will rather prepare and focus for the 10k one.

However these tournaments don't happen at the same time exactly. And you would rather have 80k than 60k. There's also prestige and the level of play.

GSL. Level of play is pretty consistent. You cannot say the same for the world championship or ESL and dreamhacks where you have two very clear tiers of players. The GSL is without a doubt a harder tournament.

by that logic the GOAT list would just be a highest prize-money won list and then Special would be a greater player than Mvp

We're clearly talking about different things. And if you're talking about the effort players put in in winning a given tournament, players don't have to put much effort into winning WESG considering only the last 2-3 matches are (possibly) difficult.

I will say that one thing I'm super happy about is that the "final GOAT" is definitely still up in the air depending on the next couple of years. Any of Rogue, Maru, Serral (depending on how much you weight his 2018, not trying to get into a debate) still at it; maybe people arguing for Inno if Rogue/Maru/Serral don't have many more accomplishments.

Plz maru, win this against the odd, show who is the real goat !

The players care about winning WESG more than winning a "harder" $10k online tourrney

I can't see a world where someone would rather play Serral, Reynor and Clem than DRG, Hurricane and Dream. The top GSL players play in both kind of tournament.
