Dude, you made an off the cuff comment from the imaginary perspective of Reynor.
You did nothing wrong.

Oh bullshit, don't give us that.
People are critical because they care. Do you know when a scene actually dies? When no one cares enough to point out when a performance is sub par.
Apathy is the killer. Criticism is the result of passion. Learn the difference.

I don't think theres anything wrong with that and its only my opinion but it feels disengenuos sometimes. I mean, I say stuff like that a lot on my own stream, but then I get flamed and told to never cast again because how dare I be the one to deem somebody played badly. Kind of puts you off. Honestly kind of done with reading feedback and chat etc, my mentality isn't good again for it lately and I honestly think I might have to take a step back from casting for a while because of it. I know it's a vocal minority and you can't please everyone etc but it just feels impossible to be happy with what I do lately, maybe better to just let the better casters take my place until I'm actually ready to do a proper job of it t-t What exactly do you want? Because honestly wardiii, you can read a lot of "based god wardii saviour of sc2 and esports" kind of coments around here too. Nothing really, I just want to be able to finish a day of work and not feel like shit that I let people down and that I'm taking up peoples space that could do a better job than me. Saviour of sc2 and esports =/= good caster, people are also very clear about that when they always say "I respect what he does, but I can't stand his casting because xyz." Yeah I do a lot of cool tournaments and stuff but at the end of the day I don't stand up to the other casters in the scene.
Personally, I just wouldn't take the criticism personally. People tend to be more vocal about what they dislike than what they like. The people that wholeheartetly hate something mention this all over the place, while people that appreciate what you're doing keep quite and enjoy the cast. I don't think you are singled out here, to be brutally honest. I would argue most casters are confronted with a lot of flaming. I understand that it's frustrating. I just don't think this is ever going to change, unfortunately.

Let's get some hype for the finals going. ZG & Maynarde are a good duo, looking forward to the cast.
Prediction: Reynor 4-2.

Man I really did conjure up a shit storm, damn wasn't my intention, I know he won't read my apology but I really didn't mean to insult him or his work.

Has any foreign terran won a premier tournament in 3 years? You have to look at context too. Why put someone down in this unnecessary manner when he recently beat both Reynor and Serral.

Maybe dont put so much weigth onto them?, Im sad you feel shitty after your workday but maybe its not the fault of the criticism but other factors? If its that then yes, Stop reading them.
TL is always nice to me tbh, just venting from some stuff I read elsewhere mostly

I honestly think Trap has more chances than casters/TL are giving to him.
And wardii is a fucking awesome caster also

Before Uthermal, was what the last time a foreign T won a premier tournament ? Around 4 years with Thorzain winning the dh now ?
|
Surprised the finals aren't brought to us by PiG and Rotti, high level players of the represented races in their own right.

Bullshit - that is just an excuse for a bunch of people to be over critical over nothing.
All the time, maybe not you.
You are taking the perspective of "all the assholes he is referring to are constructive and caring"
Really? You really think the constant bitching and negativity is a positive?
Speak for yourself, most of the people that are dicks are not "caring so much". They are just trollish assholes. Get real.
If you feel attacked by my comments, then either A) you aren't the problem or B) you are the problem.
Keep endoring and protecting the assholes in the community. They need it.

I hope Trap can play at 2am. Dunno what sleep schedules pros use.

Haha - I'll admit that I'm guilty of it at times. That said, I think there's a fine line between constructive meta-game critique and low effort spam / whine. It's natural for members of a community who are invested in a eSport to want to improve it, rather than accept what Blizzard gives us point blank.
Over the years, there's definitely been periods of imbalance in the metagame, and it was community feedback that helped Blizzard take action. Whether it was the ridiculous rush maps that disproportionately hurt Zerg (remember Steppes of War?), the 1-1-1 build against Protoss in TvP, or BL-infestor during WoL, there's definitely periods where we look back and can see - "yea, that was really imbalanced"
I don't envy the mods - not an easy task. And users should strive to be more constructive when posting (and don't hate on the players - they don't control game design). But metagame discussion is expected and natural, and to me a sign of an invested community

How long until someone makes multiple threads shitting on feardragon on r/starcraft? So do those only apply to nathanias?
|
Reynor is the favorite but he isn't as consistent as Serral in the mu, Trap can do it for sure.

How early in the series do you think we see the game where Trap goes "u know what lemme see how late-game plays out" only to learn his lesson and never do it again?
