Most interesting matches for me in group A are Reynor/Lambor vs Creator/Solar. Also Clem is doing pretty well sometimes, maybe he's up for some surprises.
Group B obviously has Serral vs Stats, which is always nice. Like I said elsewhere I think Stats is gonna win that one in the group stage. Serral vs uThermal and uThermal vs Stats could also be quite nice. I also quite wonder how well TLO will do, I expect him to place better than RiSky and maybe SouLeer, but I wouldn't mind some surprises from some players.

It was one of the Afreeca show matches. Bomber literally still plays like it is WoL and it's hilarious.
Clem vs Creator was such a train wreck lol. Creator honestly played really bad in every game, but Clem made massive stuff ups in game 2 and 3 too. I know Creator "is" good but he really struggles to show it in most of his games.

Taeja was winning/being consistent against Serral in macro games, in a bo5. He played extremely well, and Serral looked to be struggling against that style of terran (which he probably wasn't used to). Meomaika won in a short bo3 with meme builds that he prepared specifically to snipe Maru with.
You don't get (as much) credit for winning with build order wins. If Meo and Maru played as well as they did for 20 games, Maru probably wins the next 17. If Taeja and Serral played as well as they did for 20 more games, it would probably be pretty close. (Although if that happened practically Serral would end up dominating as he would likely improve his ZvT).
I'm usually one of the first people on here to discredit Taeja's wins, but in that series him and Serral absolutely played at a close level. Taeja was on fire and Serral's ZvT wasn't as mapped out as his other two matchups.

Every Zerg was struggling against Terran in that tournament and TaeJa "consistently" won two games in which Serral insisted to go for pre-buff Ultras; I guess Serral wouldn't have proceeded to sweep Bunny and win the finals against Inno if he were at TaeJa's level(coincidentally, he preferred GGlords).
It's hard to assess anything properly if you take single series in consideration, Solar beat TaeJa and Inno beat Solar convincingly, how could Serral struggle against TaeJa by this logic?
TaeJa played a great series against Serral and he was in a deceivingly good shape, but definitely not at the same level Serral was.

Well it was obvious, TLO's only chance to win the game was to completely crush Serrals army in one big fight, so he HAD to try to walk the spores to Serrals Base.

Pure Colossi took too long to produce vs Immortal (which were cheaper units and took less time to produce) and Zealots/Archon (which was cheaper and can be warped from HT)

tbh I kind of saw Serral that way in 2018 (I had the feeling that he couldn't be that good because he was a foreigner player) when I was adjusting to the reality that he really was that good. I definitely don't feel that anymore though.

in my experience, serral is rarely considered the underdog vs koreans (at least in weekenders)
the only thing ive seen is that Terran elitists (people who think Terran is the hardest race to play and that Terran players are gods) think that the Terran horseman would wipe the floor with Serral. Only innovation has proven himself against serral though (and he's also owned Maru and Stats in 2019 too, so he's just been playing at a very high level). Maru always comes up short before reaching serral and TY....lol
otherwise, I see people acknowledge serral as a favorite, or at least an equal. Most people were surprised when he lost to soo. People expect him to beat stats and classic. etc.
