Regular season matches are played in 3 best of two sets, determined by total map score, then by an ace match if needed. 3 points for a non-ace win, 2 for ace win.
Round robin format.
A Chinese player (including players from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau) must be included in each match's lineup.
Very cool, Jin Air starting a fairly weak lineup if Zest and Special show up I could see them losing. Time might have the best chance for a Chinese player as his TvT is pretty solid, rooting for Newbee in general, Scarlett should handle ragnorok so I expect them to win.
I hope this league improves the Chinese players overall through practice partners and such, China could be such an amazing pool of good players and support for the scene in the future.

I had been wondering if Jin Air would consistently prioritize player lineup diversity and sending whoever wants to play rather than the strongest lineup. They have mostly done that for team events outside of actual Proleague I think (though there are enough differences between this and something like the BJ Destruction team league to make it hard to draw conclusions).

The A-team has better things to do unless the playoffs are under threat
I don't think there's anything wrong with the line-up honestly. They don't have a choice with Rex obviously, but Creator isn't in bad shape and Trap certainly isn't either. If it ended up with Rex vs Zest and Trap vs SpeCial I'm sure Jin Air would have at least reached the ace.

That's true, with Super Tournament right around the corner it does make sense to field the guys who aren't playing in that

According to Xiaose's words, Ocean Gaming will create an offline teamhouse and Special is ready to go there. In fact, I only have a request - Because Chinese Silky is still too weak, in my opinion, Ocean Gaming should invite the other Chinese player. Since TooDming, BreakingGG, Cyan, Jieshi and so on are "old", I recommend him, Misaki. He has played many matches even in Server AM. Team ScBoys (former X-Team) is a training camp now in fact.
Ocean Gaming vs TS Gaming Special vs herO Silky vs Cloudy Zest vs Solar
Invictus vs PSISTORM iAsonu vs GuMiho Coffee vs Sakura Jim vs TRUE
Newbee vs Player 1 TIME vs Parting Scarlett vs Firefly Dear vs Fantasy
Team LP vs Jin Air Patience vs Maru Wanted vs Rogue Impact vs Rex
Now we understand why Maru and Rogue both lost early in Super Tournament! They needed more time to prepare for Team LP!! Jokes aside, Jin Air is taking this seriously unlike someone suggested.

So to recap game 1 between Dear and Fantasy: Dear doesn't have a great early game, Fantasy reaches 3 bases safely, Dear takes a long time to scout that it's mech, Dear still brute forces his way through in a way that should make Stats and Classic feel bad for losing games to mech this weekend.

GSL has been running for years, it's the tournament people take time out to watch. This is a new event that people are just starting to learn about, of course it's not going to have similar viewership to GSL.

That's really nice to hear. It would be really cool if this is not a one season thing. It's tough to get more viewers considering the time slot so asia viewers are really a must have. GSL has more viewers, sure, but that's probably because it's an long standing tournament and the viewers here do not want to miss the games and try to watch them live if possible.

The same way you can get vods from other languages, for example for German you can check TakeTV's channel.
The issue is that accessing a gaming streaming platform at work is more dangerous than being at YouTube which is accessed by almost everyone who is listening to music and is not using different services(i-net radios, Spotify, CD, MP3 or w/e )

It is mostly due to the format. for a best of 2, even if i have only 30% chance winrate against my opponent, there is still a 51% chance getting a 1-1. More importantly the loser can pick the map in game 2, which also help closing the gap.

the possibility of 1-1 is more than 51% cause the loser in the first map can choose the next map, obviously it is favorable for him/she to get 1 Point back. however, many chinese still player played Innovative and pretty good such as iAsonu ,time, sakura, wanted, jim, firefly, cloudy.......
Jin Air players seem to have a little bit trouble with the actual meta. They have also bad results in GSL this season. But for the league it's obviously nice, because it's more exciting when every team has the chance to get in the playoffs. IG also doing surprisingly good!

Betting lines being that far off from one game to the next, especially for what should be an easy match for a player like Rogue looks really suspicious.

It should only take a few days. According to the organizer (SCBOY), JAGW was late applying for the VISA and realized they are not going to get it in time for the game which is in 4 days time!
Team LP is taking JAGW's place, and their players got their VISA all sorted out the month before. They didn't even know if they were going to make it to playoffs. Why couldn't JAGW do the same? Such sloppy management.
It's a shame we don't get to see Maru playing, given it's going to be KOF format! Oh well, at least NewBee now has more chance crowning again after NEXT

Now Starcraft 2 has been a dead game in South Korea. The existence of JAGW is to be questioned. It is considered by some Chinese fans that it is gonna dismissed soon. Considering the financial crisis and capital flowing out of Blizzard Entertainment, it now seems acceptable and reasonable if JAGW is really dismissed. This may bring more high-level Korean players to Chinese teams.

For a Chinese fan like me, it is really fun to enjoy his matches. Different from traditional non-Korean terrains, he prefers bio to machinery. This makes every match of him rather enjoyable.

Clean wins are good for Chinese audience and the players in some ways. It's 10:30 pm in China now,if the score was close, today's match might end up at 1 or 2 am next day.I start to feel tired now and I have to go to bed. No, I meant the stream often has 20+ minute breaks and similar stuff due to the games going too quick. As far as I know they were expecting 8 hours of SC2, which 8 bo3s aren't nearly enough to fill. But yes, both games going 4-3 would've been hard even with very small breaks. It's tough to make a good schedule.

In this schedule, clean wins are good for Chinese audience and the players. It's 10:30 pm in China now,if the score was close, today's match might end up at 1 or 2 am next day. TBH I think the schedule is rather bad. They shouldn't have the matches finished in one day.
Yep, I agree the downtime is pretty tough. Hopefully they'll continue to improve the scheduling next season, though team leagues are always tough to schedule with a good pace. Proleague had it pretty good but those were Bo1s
I, for one, would like to thank our Chinese overlords for making the schedule perfect for us European viewers. However the live audience would be screwed at this pace.

Nah late night travel in Shanghai for the most part is not terrible, sure it's expensive but not going to break anyone's bank.

Because GSL RO4 starts at the next day. The two events would conflict if they don't squeeze into two days time.

GSL is on the 12th, and GPC is taking place at the same venue on the 13th, so they had to fit the whole tournament in 10th and 11th.

More importantly, the administrators of P1 have been unsatisfied with the unprofessional attitude of specific team members. During a live broadcast of scboy, it is widely inferred that Parting has been behaving unprofessionally, only caring about his income. Thus, we may see another high-level team member joining P1 as well as Nice. Now Dark, Innovation("吕布", Lv Bu) have been a focus with all teams rushing to sign both of them. It is said that Solar may take on the task to persuade Inno to join tsg (with a salary bonus). If so, tsg would be invincible.

What does this mean? BasetradeTV was not involved in the tournament. Does it mean JAGW will not be able to participate in the team league any more? This would be a pitty but somehow understandable.

(from what I know from Chinese forums) Add a hyperlink here for further details. One answer for that: no coaches in charge now, players are let free of control.

Jin Air was not professional enough to arrange their visas in time, they literally let the organizers know 5 days before the playoffs that their visa isnt coming out till the 10th. BTTV is another can of worms I dont want to open, just don't ask about it.

"..... Out" is a meme in East Asian Continent SC community. Years ago, SCboy lagged when casting some match. Other caster typed "SCBOY OUT". So it comes a meme and is widely used whenever there is a lag.
About BTTV. SCBOY broadcasted their channel without authorization. Some audience told BTTV about this. BTTV put "Hello, Thief" in Mandarin in the middle of their channel. After this, SCBOY never broadcast BTTV any longer, and never invite or allow BTTV broadcast their tournaments either. I can't say nothing wrong with SCBOY, but obviously, SCBOY have a different understanding of broadcast rights and how to hold tournaments.
Back to the emotional reply, the guy mentioned BBTV then ".....I don't want to open". In fact, he did open it. In East Asian Continent live/cast community, it is called “let caster/audience sidetracked”, which generally is malicious.

In short, it was piracy.
It is not really so.
Because China has that stupid great firewall, it could be laggy and interrupt the players if you have an OB from China. SCBOY prefer re-streaming others instead of being a OB in the game.
In BTTV's story, that was an Olimo iirc, SCBOY and Crank has a deal with exchanging rights to stream on each others tournament. It is not really piracy in the tournament. but as BTTV consider OB camera work is a part of their property, so Rifkin call them thieves. SCBOY did apologized afterwards but the beef is still there.
The shit just goes on since then, so SCBOY stopped casting BTTV's tournaments and banned BTTV from theirs.
In fact, the Master's coliseum tournament was made because SCBOY want to fill the time on Thursday after this happened.

So they re-streamed BTTV without their permission (they only had that deal with Crank). That's piracy.

It does not make any sense at all. The deal between Crank and SCBOY, is effective between them both and only them. Without notifying, real time re-streaming BaseTrade TV, is pirating.
It occurred before, and it will continue occurring because the WALL is there. That's the fact. The only difference is, by learning from that experience, they shall re-streaming from few channels.
SCBOY and BaseTradeTV should have resolved the issue behind the scene.
Instead, BTTV decided to publicly humiliate SCBOY in front of hundreds of BTTV's fans, and tens of thousands of SCBOY's fans. This was a dick move IMO, or they were just being childish.
It triggered the Chinese Starcraft community so bad, from what i hear they don't want to have anything to do with BTTV anymore.

I did not state it was BTTV's fault. In fact I think their reaction was justified and it was not cool for SCboy to simply assume everyone is OK with their restreaming (although the vast majority of Starcraft streamers were OK with it), it was what happened AFTER that is not appropriate (not going to elaborate and escalate this further, those who saw it know what I'm talking about). I got them together for a talk and SCboy wholeheartedly apologized and both parties agreed to move on, it really should be forgotten as an unfortunate incident and subsequently SCboy has mandated that all their broadcast and content will be fully permitted by the right holders.

Season 2 is already in, and both seasons are sponsored by one of their co-investors which is wealthy enough to own a multi story shopping mall so it's like chop change for him lol. Plus they have other sponsors like one of the biggest food delivery services in China and a top tier appliances maker.

For what I heard, season 1 test run and fully funded by Blizzard China/Netease, which the purpose is to show the potential how big the Chinese SC2 community and market would be for any further teams and sponsors. Season 2 would be sponsored by some old sponsors, such as Alienware, ele.me, and the wealthy billionaire you just mentioned who is also brother-in-law of xiaose, one of the scboy.

Of course. He would still play SC2, and participate any individual tournament if there's a chance and play sniper duel at Dust II against F91, but he would let other team member to participate the team league, and he will not exercise as hard as before. Anyway, he have prove to be good as manager and good luck for him.
1.I have withdrawn the comment I made with regard to basetrade tv. It is rather inappropriate and controversial. In retrospect, I feel sorry for the comments I made. Also, I am sorry for the late response I made. (I didn't get how to edit my comments) 2.Latest Update of JAGW: A court in Incheon sentenced 45-yr-old Cho Hyun-ah (I don't know whether it is the right spelling) to 8 months in prison with a probation of one year due to smuggling. Cho was charged with smuggle luxury with Korean Airlines' airplanes, together with her mother, who was also sentenced to 6 months in prison with probation. I don't know what would be the impacts of the management of Jinair, which is a subsidiary of Korean Airlines, may face fierce pressure in the future. As a 'dead game' in Korea, Jinair may dismiss their Starcraft e-sports team, JAGW.

Team Top disbanded after Cyan and Jieshi was banned from official game. Jieshi joined LP and Cyan joined the new team Brave Star with Hurricane and Dream, so there will be no more Team Top. There is rumor that a new team KZ gaming would be formed by some rich guys, but I wonder whether it is a joke or they would consider it seriously.

According to XIAOSE. SOO are the rich guys' potential target. They even want to buy Maru, but the contract will expire in November.

KZ, kaizi, rich guys. Some rich friends of SCBoy Xiaose found this team. Rumors: soo, innoation, maru, dark were their targets.
Nah.. I think it's meant to be a joke. Most of these players are still on ongoing contracts, so it's not likely they can join another team before next Season begins Maybe next year?
Really cool that this tournament seems to get even bigger. First season was really good and imo had the one of best offline parts of all chinese tournaments I've watched so far.

SCBOY shouldn't have restreamed BTTV, and after having done it, he should have apologised and asked for permission. BTTV's reaction is childish indeed, but they had every reason to complain. It's clear you guys have different opinions about copyright, piracy and that kind of stuff over there.
Let us look back to the guy who first mentioned this, who thought it was totally BTTV's fault. Obviously, it's really PR disaster to SCBOY because more and more people know this disgraceful thing.
Although I come from East Asian Continent, I won't use such reason, like culture different to defend SCBOY if I want to. No copyright awareness was no copyright awareness. At least, they have the broadcast rights and do something good to SC2.
I've only just been notified of this thread, and I'm a bit confused on some of the story elements here. My memory of events is as follows:
- SCBoy chose to pirate our stream - We did retaliate by acknowledging them restreaming our content with a message that said, "Hello, Thief " in mandarin
(small note on this: To this day I've never understood how that was taken to be such a serious insult? If you deliver the mail, you're a mailman. If you steal somebody's work and pass it as your own, you're a thief?)
- We were filing a formal complain to blizzard - digimouse reached out to me to act as a translator and liason to scboy to try and ease tensions - SCBoy representative apologized to me in private conversation, and I offered to retract my complaint I was filing.
mostly ends here
- some time later I make a request to digimouse about contacting SCBoy to see if we can work together, and am told something along the lines of possibly in the future but it's probably best if we don't due to recent events
What exactly happened after that is not appropriate?

Of course scboy was wrong. But when you printed "Hello, Thief" in mandarin on your screen, you actually chose to use an abusive method instead of a rational discussion, which deeply hurt scboy and Chinese watchers. I think you should understand that once you did this, you can never cooperate with scboy again. Needless to say you typed "Taiwan #1" in the chat zone of twitch, which is disrespect for politics in other countries.
I think BTTV has been permanetly banned from casting any matches held in China. Scboy dare not take the political risk even if they want to improve relationship with BTTV.

I'm sorry but if somebody were to steal your wallet, would anyone sit there and calmly ask for it back as the thief ran away? Further more, watching them sell your wallet for 10x the value, would you whisper, "stop"? You can't justify an offense because it made the offender feel bad.
Regarding the Taiwan #1 comments, it'd be nice if there were more screen shots saved of the 30+ minutes of straight up harassment and attacks from scboy fans before my retaliation with a comment, so I guess I'll just have to apologize for retaliating after being attacked by Chinese fans for a prolonged period of time, I am sorry to disappoint the few level headed folks who didn't come to our chat spamming awful things in whatever language it was.

I mean that's their prerogative, I have never asked to cast anything after it was made clear they didn't want to work together, and my participation in this thread isn't anything along those lines either. In fact, I have no desire to work with them either after experiencing their extremely toxic fans harassing me for months.
There’s no doubt that BTTV is banned permanently. If you really hopes to cooperate with with SCBOY and your IQ is not negative, you are supposed to understand what “TW#1” means.Though I don’t deny that SCBOY was wrong when pirate your stream, but your political errors will never be forgiven.SCBOY never get back at anyone without reasonable explanation. They are enthusiastic, approachable and easygoing.

What does this mean? BasetradeTV was not involved in the tournament. Does it mean JAGW will not be able to participate in the team league any more? This would be a pitty but somehow understandable.
Correct, we have had nothing to do with any of this league, and I do not understand why "basetradetv" is being brought up at all in any related topics?

Just ignore the trolls Rif, you are wasting time on them
Jesús, all these chinese 1post accounts to defend SCboy and trash talk BTTV...
Scboy stole the broadcast, period. Then Basetrade reacted in an immature way, as he always does, but he had every right to complain. Don't picture SCboy here as the good guy and bttv as the demon.
While "reacting in a immature way" is somewhat of a BTTV staple, they did not do it in this instance. Laughing at someone who steals your work for profit is probably the best way to handle such situation. There is no way in hell SCBOY has any grounds to being offended.
Also, if cooperation with China requires other parties to conform to their political demands, then I do not want any such cooperation. Sucks for those Chinese people who would like to have nothing to with politics, but are forced to pay attention to it or get to troubles, but that doesn't change that we should not give in at any point.

Nope, it was immature. Publically shaming IS IMMATURE. That's why it's illegal in many countries...
Mature response is to ask the person to not do that, return the property and/or call the police. No shaming involved.
Immature response is to laugh at the person, pin the photo of the person on some public place and promote laughing from others. This isn't how adults solve their things. As a bonus BTTV managed to offend Chinese fans(for w/e reason).

I'm refering to both sides. The parties involved already moved on like a year ago, it's not nice to borderline unacceptable for the poster a couple pages back to start this, it's even worse to derail this thread further by arguing over something isn't really arguable: SCboy was absolutely wrong then, and BTTV had all the rights to demand an apology and they did get it. To my knowledge SCboy did not talk about the incident after that and they did not ask their fans to incite this here or anywhere else, it's simply not a nice thing to do. Hope I am clear this time.

I'm plenty happy to drop it, as you said we all moved on some time ago. I just don't like seeing my name or my company's name brought up and dragged through the mud again for no reason. I still don't understand why it was even brought up in the first place?

I wonder, if some of the transfer rumors will come true. There are not this many free agents in Korea. Maybe this league will lead to some fresh blood in the scene, would be great.

For a lot of rich Chinese team boss/investor who have interesting on esport, maintaining a SC2 team with one Chinese and two Korean is much cheaper than LoL or DotA.
#1. A couple of Chinese fans can't representative all Chinese SC2 fans. #2. Re-streaming without authorization is wrong. #3. Trash talks are trash talks and they do cause damage. #4. Do not add fuel to the fire that involves politics. More specifically, think twice when you mentioned TW#1 in front of Chinese. #5. Past is past, let it go, especially, when both sides are settled down.
China has a Wall, it's the background to trigger the whole story and it will continue being the similar pattern. There are good people and bad people in the world, common sense. Bad people steal stuff, because there is very few option left.

Sarcastically, what we are trying to prevent, is the root cause.

I personally hope the match rule could be changed next season. Now, the team just need 3 players, a top one, a middle one, a Chinese one. Considering present situation, It's hard for Chinese players to play the role as top or middle one, even TIME.
In the long run, this is good for top players, but it does not expand the pool of players. I think it will be great if a team could have 4-6 players.

It's meaningless when you try to reach a consensus under the background you mentioned.
Not Mentioning and Moving on is much easier, compared with removing the background you mentioned.

Actually, the disscussion here is related to the topic, <Team league matches >
How do Wardi or TakeTV solve the issues ?
For example, China_Team_League, Korean server, Wardi or TakeTV has its own OB GPC, Chinese server(?) , there is a feed specifically for Wardi or TakeTV
Likewise, instead of not talking about it, do the good people has alternative method the solve the issue ?

There is already a shortage of available teamless Chinese players for potential new team, and most existing players are not as good as TIME. Also, there isn't many teamless Korean too. Consider the match has to be played on either China or Korean server, I do not believe many European or American would join it.
For my point of view, 3 players are fine for right now. A team, at least, is a team and it will pay its players salary. If playing SC2 could be consider as a career and earn money, I believe it will attract more young players to join. Joining a team also give them a chance to learn from their high-skilled Korean teammates.
At last, because the regular season use a "best-of-two" format, though most Chinese players may not win a BO5 or BO3, a lot of them have the ability to take one map from their opponent, thus force a 1-1 draw and maybe even an ace match. So they still may play an important role for their team.
Of course I would like to see more players per team, and that is our goal in the future. At least we already have a good start.

As I know, Wardi or TakeTV re-steam GPC from douyu when it is offline in East Asian Continent. GPC is held officely by NetEase.

Most of the teams already have 4-6 players: IG, OG, LP, TSG, PSISTORM and JAGW. There are already few players left without team in China/Korea and there will be probably one or two more teams for the next season. But if the teamleague is doing well and will attract more fresh blood in the scene, they should maybe considere your idea in the future years.
I honestly think that IG should trade some of their Chinese players with other teams, because they need someone strong enough to act as their cornerstone. Also, players like iAsonu could really use a sparring partner. He could be so much stronger than right now IMO.
Right now the trend is big name players being poached away from their current team. We already knew soO is currently in talks with the new KZ Gaming team, pretty sure there are other high profile moves in plans. But again, the options are limited, some older players will have reached the age that they are not allowed to leave the country due to military service.

Of course they have money, but they should not pay their players too many than they should earn in a healthy market. If they grab all the good players they want, the less skilled players may want a salary raise too. Other team may not have enough money to compete and they may quit eventually one day. But anyway, they play terrible at CS:GO and DotA at least.

$10,000/mth?? Jeez! :D It's better to be a popular player than the greatest player
According to xiaose (source), because season 2 has twelve teams, and there is not enough time for a big round-robin of all 12 teams for the rest of this year, so it is decided that they will be divided into 2 groups of six teams. The top 4 of season 1 would be seeds, and the rest would be chose randomly, which the result is: Group 1: LP, Newbee, Brave Star, IG, Jin Air, KaiZi Group 2: TSG, P1, OG, Psi, Chivo, Dark
For the new 4 teams, Brave star's roster would be:Cyan, Hurricane and Dream Chivo should have soO, RagnaroK, the Chinese Taipei player ExpecT Dark is the merge of another 2 teams: Alpha X and Black Night, which has Armani, Chinese Daydreamer, and American Astrea who lives in Korea now. KaiZi is founded by 4 billionaire idiots who are also scboy's friends and one of them is also xiaose's cousin-in-law. A lot of people thought it was just a rich man's joke, but at last the team was founded as a serious team. The 4 idiots have a lot of money and I heard that they have contacted a lot of well known players including Innovation, TY and maybe Dark, but there isn't a lot of available players right now before the well known players' contract expire. I only heard that they have Bunny and Super right now.
Each group will play their own round robin. The offline playoff would be 5 teams (top 2 of each group, and the third of each group will play an additional match) as a KotH format. The playoff match itself will use a different bo2 kof format. If one player could defeat his opponent 2-0, he will continue to face next opponent; if it ends 1-1, then both teams have to choose another player to play the next game.
More detail official information would be announced soon.

After the official information is given, the topic, "[2019] China Team Championship Season 2" will be created.
This is my first post in TL (I've only been following sc2 since f2p, I'm a pleb I know) so don't be to hard on me.
Xiaose knows this a lot better than me ofc, but since BlackNight hired SpeeD too, and they seemed to be very hyped about it, isn't more likely to be him playing instead of Astrea? I mean, Astrea is a very good player indeed, but I think he has to evolve a lot to beat koreans, which means he would only be able to beat chinese players and Daydreamer is probably not the right player to fight versus koreans.
Alpha X hired DynaMite too...I don't know a thing about him except that he is sharing an apartment with Dream, but I don't think he is at a good level yet. So my question is...what is Alpha X adding to BlackNight other than Astrea and maybe money?
Another thing is that maybe there aren't a lot of good koreans players without a team, but this is also an opportunity for some B grade Gm players maybe?

Dynamite is around 6200~6300 on KR already, so he's in good shape

You won't always have all your players available. Depth is nice.
For score comparisons: 2300 is around the level of Kelazhur, Namshar, or Parting, 2000 is Astrea, DRG, and Bomber, 1800 is Semper, Risky, or Probe, 1500 is HuT (Australian Terran), Bioice, or Rotti.
Zoun and Journey are doing some ladder, but maybe they're not trying to come back. Then there's Rookie, Prince and Gyulzing who might have a shot if teams need more players.
