You can consider it, but I don't agree with it at all. If you're a good player nowadays, you're almost guaranteed a Ro16 in GSL since the competition is so thin now. Plus we've had years when players won 3 Korean tournaments in one year and never dropped off in skill, while Stats definitely did mid 2017. Mvp's 2011 was better imo, Zest's 2014 was as well. Arguments to be made about Life and Taeja when they peaked. Also an argument to be made about Maru in 2014 or 15. The last three I'm not sure though, but they felt much better at the time.

Maybe they felt better but I don't think they objectively come close in success to Stats in the past 12 months. Regarding the bold part, Mvp dropped out of Code S mid-year, so did he really never drop off at all?

Zest won 3 premier korean events in one year, as well as finish highly (ro4/ro8) in everything else. MVP did something similar iirc.
Inno is very close to doing the same. If he wins GSL he would match/maybe beat MVP and Zest's records
Stats is consistant, but only has a single win to his name right now. Whether it's fair or not is debatable, but people remember actual wins 10x more than high finishes (except for maybe soO's case)

Everybody was bad at the time so it's pointless, example : harder to win 2 Champions League in a row nowadays than 5 in 50s.
You have to be fair.
