Been a hard year for foreign terrans. Even the foreign terrans training in Korea don't seem to have the mechanics to play the race well.

any how, great event. great fun..
too bad neeb stomped everyone he faced.. that killed the entertainment value somewhat.

i think the reason they avoid western Canada is that they figure Anaheim is in the South West area of NA...
so Blizz wants big events in cities in the North East of NA to balance things out.

that's my theory any way.

We need foreigners on Blizzcon to shut up those who say the gap is closing.
Has foreign StarCraft hit rock bottom?

People were giving Scarlett so much shit for getting blown out by Neeb, and then today's matches were even less close. At least she took a damn game. Neeb's good man

Rather than saying the gap is closing, I prefer to say the korean scence is declining, but still very far from the foreigner scence.

And some people wonder why aligulac is criticized.

I mean it's simply what you get with a split tournament scene. All the foreigners are inflated because it's easier to get mmr there. If we just compare players of each region to each other aligulac is pretty good.

I understand people's frustration with the current system if it results in boring tournaments like this. I think it is very simple what blizzard needs to do to make next year more exciting for the viewers and more fair for the players. Combine all tournaments into a single pool of points but require all tournaments to have online qualifiers in all the major regions including GSL, SSL, IEM, etc. Non-Koreans that qualify for GSL or SSL should have their flights to Korea paid for by Blizzard and Blizzard should work with NoRegret on setting up affordable housing in Korea for them, my understanding is he has already made great progress toward getting affordable housing for next year but just needs a sponsor to make a deposit.

If Blizzard doesn't want to make such a drastic change then they could maintain the split system but have WCS Challenger Korea for WCS Circuit events which will give a few spots to Koreans in WCS circuit events. In exchange GSL could add a separate online qualifier in Europe and America to guarantee a few GSL spots to non-Koreans.

Even if these aren't perfect solutions I think people should share their ideas for how to improve the system rather than just yell at eachother. If the community can come up with some good ideas we might actually see change.

well yeah if you approach it reasonably like that it makes sense. but I want to say that Neeb is currently favored against every player in the world except Gumiho and Byun for the drama

Elazer vs Snute as a whole was a solid, competitive series. the neeb series are only recommended if you want to see complete 1 sided beat downs where 1 player could do whatever he wanted

So basically Neeb is confirmed better than almost every korean without actually beating any?
Zest, sOs, PartinG, Dark, and Maru are the real champs. ROOT_herO is overrated. Snute, Serral, and Scarlett are the foreigner GOATs

he created the 2nd gap

Korea ---- gap ---- Neeb --- gap ---- foreign scene

next year neeb has to be in his own region in wcs against AI

Neeb isn't even proving the gap is closing. He's just creating another gap
