I still think that foreign players will have a very hard time against korean terrans, and that if the game were to be well designed, they would stand no chance ever.
But yeah nowadays with the sponsors dropping and stuff koreans are at an all time low so it's almost easy to beat them, especially in matchups such as PvP.

This further enhances the point that WoL beginning was the most competitive Korean era. Kespa era wasn't as tough.

yeah I figured. afaik it's pretty much been like that since the beginning. I mean Byun will just randomly go to rank 1 and then leave league when he's bored.

koreans kept training together while they were steadily declining and the infrastructures disappearing, so they ended up all getting worse except for some lone wolves like ByuN and the most gifted like Dark.

Same thing happened in chess honestly when soviet chess collapsed. Who would have thought that chess would nowadays be dominated by a norwegian, a french, an italian and an american ?

Why didn't they straight up told "hey the korean scene has huge problems and thats also a reason why the gap is closing" ... really wish we had a Thooorin guy on the desk.
