I dont get why people like telling others how to do their job, if you think casters are not doing well enough, give some polite and helpful advice, and you should always expect that there is a possibility that they wouldnt listen to you. Please dont just go ' Caster A should do this' or 'Caster B should do that'. It's disrespectful and no one likes a know-it-all. either way, great casting and great games,p. ALSO NEEEEEEEEEBBBB(LET)

people tell me how to do my job all the time. 95% of the time its useless blather. occasionally, a person will point out something i never thought of before. so i always accept feedback on my work because that 5% is valuable and it provides a nice heuristic check.
scarlett provided correct analysis with her posts in here and it helped me understand what was going on. it made the bly/ptitdrogo series more interesting for me.
rather than bickering back and forth about who can criticize whom and for what reasons.. and end up in an endless spiralling cycle of acrimony ... let's keep in mind this is a Blizzard event and let's examine their mission statement...
"Every employee is encouraged to speak up, listen, be respectful of other opinions, and embrace criticism as just another avenue for great ideas."
AVENUE FOR GREAT IDEAS fly scarlett to anaheim now! let's get her analysis and insights added to the BlizzCon show!!! obviously, that is unrealistic, maybe for the next Blizzard show they should do something like this though. include a current top pro player to provide analysis and insight that "entertainment" casters can't provide.
thanks for the insights today scarlett.. in the words of fellow Canadian Jared Cale: "u pwn.. hard." i hope we get more insights about game play from scarlett as BlizzCon continues.

I doubt even Scarlett would be up for being flown across the continent tonight and with zero notice giving commentary on camera.

ya i thought 3 mutas was the warp prism defense squad. 5-8 is the "i hope they overcommit to defense" size

Scarlett should have just said "the caster said xy wrong because of this and this" instead of what she said. helpful criticism vs unhelpful criticism.

But seriously, good job! I mean, as much I cheer for Snute as a TL fan, it was nice to see you playing well and adapting.

Scarlett should have just said "the caster said xy wrong because of this and this" instead of what she said. helpful criticism vs unhelpful criticism. she is representing the pro players who've received undue/incorrect criticisms from broadcasters. The conflict between broadcasters and SC2 pros has been going on since July 27th 2010.
The conflict between top pros and the broadcasters who take a microscope to their performances has been going on for 100+ years in dozens of competitive settings from F1 racing to baseball to backgammon. its in the nature of the relationship and its not going away.
this takes it back to the "endless spiraling cycle of acrimony" i stated in my original post. and i proposed an idea that logically grows from the criticism as long as we "embrace criticism as just another avenue of great ideas".
if all that happens is a bunch of finger pointing BlizzCon won't improve.

You know, everyone already said the schedule is kinda messy, but it's even worse when you realize that the players eliminated first only play one day They should have played the Winners' match first imo. (Well, they should have done one group per day but clearly they didn't want to do things normally)

oh btw jimmyjraynor is the same as hider.. no idea what I did to piss em off but anytime I'm mentioned like flies to a shit they come in out of nowhere and start explaining how I'm wrong or dumb etc.. it's actually amazing.
Yeah guys. I'm apparently now a blizzard employee and I should find it helpful when someone tells me how to do my job LOL. Btw blizzard reps DID talk with me today and they high fived me and said "awesome job"

Why is there so much downtime ?. I turned the whole thing off in the end. After doing a shift at work I didn't want to spend 2 hours of my time watching overwatch adds any more

There wasn't all that much downtime when I was watching it live...they did about 6 series in 6-7 hours, which isn't bad. Of course maybe I was paying attention much.

Because you did an awesome job!
I'm sure Scarlett also thinks you did an awesome job. It doesn't mean it was perfect or that she or any other sc2 fan can not voice their opinions though. It's not all black and white.
Anyway I love your work and can't wait for the day 2 broadcast!

Will we continue shitposting here for today's groups? I'm kind of enjoying how this thread is slowly changing into a soap opera

Too bad you guys can't watch the French stream, two of the casters are quite knowledgeable on the virtue of being decently ranked on EU so there is not that much problems.

ToD, Incontrol, Rotti, Nathanias are all GM so there is almost never a problem in that regard on the english stream either and obviously Artosis knows his stuff too. But they are once again missing a zerg expert, which is regrettable, even though they can still cast most zerg games just fine.

Actually I am still wondering what TLO is doing backstage. They have a zerg expert right there, but aren't using him.
I know he would love to tell the others how wrong they are :D.
