Is there really no english stream for this? I want to watch, but I'm not sure if I have enough passion to stay up all night to watch a muted stream.

Totally doable for Violet, would love to have the blizzcon contestants at KeSPA Cup, it would make the tournament much more interesting.

it's more a #PASSION cast than a French cast anyway.

I would have liked to see Polt try.

I just hope it doesn't go the way of some Korean qualifiers where some of my favourites randomly get knocked out by Tangtang or something.

MaSa usually beats Scarlett, so that sounds pretty likely to me.

Yeah he successively played in the KR, NA, and EU qualifiers before finally winning the 3rd EU seed by beating Snute. And then lost in the Ro16 at the actual event.

They were all the same day, and he got pretty far in the NA qualifier so I don't think he had much time to rest before EU.

I still don't think he is dominating the scene at all. He had a great run at Montreal, but he failed to qualify to Copa, dropped out of Kings of the North, and hasn't been performing well in most other events. He's a top player in NA and in the scene, but it's not like he's doing easy 3-0 runs outside of his one great run. He's losing to all of the upper echelon of the foreign scene as well.

That's not unfair. Bracket luck is inevitable no matter what system you choose (except 80 player round robin I suppose).

I'll be a sophist and say that in a round robin there are no brackets and therefore no "bracket luck".

Regardless of format its kind of bullshit that TRUE is in WCS at all it should be Scarlett and Neeb going, not a player who's effectively completely Code S already and is exploiting the system.

I love swiss tournaments, but sadly they aren't manageable scheduling-wise in SCII due to how variable the length of a series can be.

Even in round robin you have bracket luck I'll be a sophist and say that in a round robin there are no brackets and therefore no "bracket luck". Well technically maybe But at the end of the day t still can matter a lot in which order you play the other guys, which is close enough

Scarlett knocked out Creator and Seed in the SSL qualifier and two other (fairly unknown) terrans in the GSL qualifier and she had the security of being able to play in the WCS too.

If we're being totally real, the fact that Starcraft is significantly less popular these days is directly linked to the lack of foreigner success. I like Koreans, a lot of people do, but Korean domination has had a negative impact on the scene.

I thought it had something to do with LoL, DotA and CS taking off so SC2 lost its eSports monopoly but nope, it was totally Korean dominance. Nevermind the fact that LoL has the same Korean dominance for years.

It's kind of weird. On Basetrade, Rifkin said that they weren't allowed to share vods for the qualifiers. However, you can watch a good chunk of the qualifiers on Gauntlet and Wardii's stream. I'm not sure if it's permanent or temporary. But right now, you can watch on their past streams.

LoL also has very strong regional scenes. The only time you really see Korea dominating is at Worlds and maybe a couple other events. The rest of the time it's your favorite regional teams battling it out for glory. Also, LCK is the highest level of League, yet it's one of the least popular regions for viewership because foreign players would rather watch their local scene.
