I think libs would be balanced if they were still good against mutas, but didn't do splash. I mean, they can be reactored out, it's not hard to get a sufficient number of them fast.
It honestly blows my mind that it hasn't been at the very least talked about as a potential solution to liberators. Lets them still be good against mutas but if the number gets too high you need to add thors and whatnot.

Also the problem isn't splitting mutas versus liberators, its CONSTANTLY doing it, and being punished for not doing it for even a fraction of a second
