Can a foreigner really be called decent?

YongHwa in the winners match ?

If he beat Classic and Rain I'm just lost for words.

He beat Rain and Classic indeed.

No, he beat Classic and Rain. YongHwa would have been to easy for him and would have been sent into retirement

2-0 Rain, 2-1 Classic

Isn't that some of the most impressive performances by a foreigner ? I mean, with the current state of ZvP, beating two Korean leagues champions in a row is just out of this world.

Skill isn't the ability to get ahead, it's the ability to win if you are ahead. That is why foreigners lose to Koreans so often, they often get ahead but they aren't good enough to finish them off.

I think we can pretty much conclude from the previous map that Curious could open 1 base current SHs and still win somehow.

Yes it is really impressive, although I'm unsure if the style he used is really solid or was just a desperation strat that worked because StarCraft

Last time this happened was at IEM Shenzhen last year where Jim beat Life and Taeja (both of whome went on to win blizzcon and get to ro4 blizzcon respectively)

yeah but I mean Jim is P, no balance whine intended, but upsets are likely to happen with P players who play like Jim. Far more impressive from Snute IMO.
