Lots of people were better than Nada at the end of BW and yet he's considered better than them.

Didn't Life win a GSL and some other tournaments at the end of WoL when, you know, Zerg was considered to be really OP?

Mvp won with a broken back in a meta with bl/infestors during a time where he was the sole player innovating for his race. You could easily apply the same logic to life. He won 2 of his GSLs during bl/infestor but we don't knock him for that. Be consistent with your reasoning.

It's unfortunate that Mvp's career was cut short due to health issues and while he will remain the best player in WoL, it definitely has to be Life for all of SC2. It's like the people that argue for older players like Bill Russel in GOAT conversations over Jordan. The level of competition is much more fierce now. We can't just assume that Mvp would have remained as dominant in this era if he didn't have to deal with health issues.

MVP slumped for 3 years, that's not a lot better is it?
MVP was dominant for 2-3 years then slumped for 3.
Life was dominant for 1, slumped for 1,then in form some times slump some times before blizzcon, and now here we are.
It's about consistency.

Mvp was INVINCIBLE in 2011. It was unbelievable. He REKT people with mech so hard it was beyond belief. I truly believe his peak was higher than any player ever. He was also a strategic genius. He also battled through crippling wrist issues and continued to make runs capped off by him winning GSL AGAIN, this time as the underdog.
I fucking love Life you know I do but I think most people who were around for Mvp aren't ready to crown Life

People call Mvp the best player of all time because of his legacy not because he is currently the best player of all time. Life won his GSLs in BL/Infestor era too. Mvp also won a GSL in that era when terran were gettin crushed left and right. There was a time when he dominated the entire world winning everything there were to win.
