Maru shouldn't be losing to anyone except for Life at this point in time. He is the 2nd best player in the world. But, I must admit, upsets do happen from time to time. Maru us known to slip up sometimes. Actually, I think his wrists are bothering him again. I guess that explains his loss against Parting. I think that Maru is simply not a winner...he's a really great player (one of the best ever in SC2) but he doesn't have the right mentality to win it all. He won 1 tournament in his whole carrier even if he went far in most of the torunament he played. 2015-02-01 Intel Extreme Masters 2nd IEM Season IX - Taipei 2014-06-18 GOMTV Global StarCraft II League 3 - 4th 2014 Global StarCraft II League Season 2 2013-12-06 GOMTV Global StarCraft II League 3 - 4th 2013 Hot6ix Cup 2013-11-09 World Championship Series 3 - 4th 2013 WCS Global Finals 2013-10-27 World Championship Series 3 - 4th 2013 WCS Season 3 2013-10-09 World Championship Series 3 - 4th 2013 WCS Season 3 Korea GSL And those are just his top 4 results!

Life also got outplayed by Rain recently but he's still the better player. Rain "had" been better across all matchups prior to that disaster earlier this week. In fact aligulac actually shows the change where herO just overtook him. Rain won against Life. Otherwise this year he lost against every top player. His next best wins are Classic and DRG, two guys that are near to irrelevant at the top competition right now. His losses are to Rogue, Soulkey, Dream, Dark, Soulkey again, and even lost to players like Gumiho and Impact. Anytime he is up against a somewhat bigger name he loses aside from the 2-1 against Life. He is not up there with the best right now.

I like him, I just like Maru more. I blame GSL format, Maru had to face Parting twice after winning first and hero got through on a somewhat freewin and because Tanks are the most pathetic unit in the game. Salt is real

As fun as his style is to watch it's also incredibly frustrating. He never actually makes an effort to expand any leads, if he gets ahead he pulls SCVs until he's behind again. His primary tool is just relying on his godly micro and multitasking to save him and he never really has any contingency plans. Plus he doesn't actually seem to be that great at mindgames or strategy overall.

There's no room for mindgaming properly except with hellion/mine openers. Marus strategy and mindgames TvT and TvZ are sickly good. It's just that TvP has been Maru's weakness for pretty much the entirety of this year. Add to that Parting having his number, GSL format being the GSL format, Maru's style being reliant on midgame because that's where his strenghts lie (not in the clusterfuck that is Lategame) and well....

Well yeah but herO beating Terrans is the natural order of things edit : Dang I just realized that there's potential to have a Ro4 with only players I'm a fan of, and I'm at 3/4 with the NSSL Ro4. How good is that :D

Not everyone plays this game like Artosis. His primary tool is just relying on his godly micro and multitasking to save him and he never really has any contingency plans. He plays bio-Terran. Keeping on doing what you are doing is a very good contingency plan. Plus he doesn't actually seem to be that great at mindgames or strategy overall. Please, he actually played it very well. Didn't even try to harass with the reaper, only scouted the map. Sometimes you are just unlucky with the amount of bullshit Protoss has besides their macro game, e.g. g2 on Merry. If he sends the first scouting SCV to scout top right instead of bottom, his reaper will be sent to the proxy stargate location asap and he wins. He sent the SCV bottom, so the reaper scouts top first and he loses. Shit happens when luck is such a major part of the game, even if you dedicate everything that is reasonable to preventing it. Also he is known to be a 2raxer and doing other cheesy stuff in all matchups, as Parting put it "he knows the mindgames too".

To be fair even if we follow the LR your clarification is on the next page and it's quite easy to miss. Maybe you should just avoid posting things that are easily misconstrued in the first place and/or edit the actual post rather than follow up on the next page. It would be nice to pay some more respect to staff who don't have the easiest job :D

Hero n parting solved the maru puzzle with different strategy. Hero went nexus first to get economic lead. Parting went stealth and all in. If iem maru shows up against stats, by playing a smart way. He should beat stats. But if he plays like a robot like today, stats will knock him out.

I think the modding should be left to people who are actually in the thread Edit: I'm a bit salty because it's not the first time and it's always Kadaver.. You guys all have my highest respect (yes, even Kadaver)!
