Top 2 players of each Stage 1 cup move into Stage 2. Top 3 players of Stage 2 Advance to the Taipei Lan event. I think that was for San Jose afaik, it should be top 8 of Stage 1 to Stage 2 and top 2 of Stage 2 to Taipei

Ouch, I just realized that there are only two qualification spots on the line. Well, premature congratulations to Polt and Hydra, I guess? Wouldn't mind upsets though!

that was some crazy inattention to lings there, so much death

wow 80 lings dead for 0 kill :o

QXC just plays like TY himself, literally no difference

Wow, I can't believe qxc is probably gonna win this game 2. scarlett seemed so far ahead

oh huk 8[ on the other hand oh xeno
oh shit i missed infestors doing their thing what a fungle

infested marine micro is real

aahaahh those fungals........ :D I bet qxc have fond memories of fungals!

i feel like we see a lot more infest lately (hyun, life, scarlett in this game) looks like the unit is still great despite what zerg says since hots

okay, it wasn't a throw, but she would have crushed that so much harder if she didnt lose 8 full energy infestors for free

"Pool on fire"
Wtf Scarlett? :D
what does "pool on fire" means?
Kevin played quite well and Scarlett looked like she was either jetlagged to hell or dead tired, possibly both.
what does "pool on fire" means? That the sunken area typically filled with a oxygen/hydrogen compound has caught flame.
pool on fire? is that some weird euphemism I don't understand?
I'm quite concerned for Scarlett's safety if shes withing visible range of a pool on fire.
Qxc has improved tremendously recently.
i don't think you can improve after you barely lost to dear after your mouse malfunctioned and you got a new one that you were not familiar with.
So cool to see Xeno play this well, hope he beats Polt!

I don't think you can improve after all-killing the best team in SC2 :D

How did Xenocider take game 1 ?
On December 22 2014 08:41 pigmanbear wrote: How did Xenocider take game 1 ?
Macro game on Overgrowth. Almost same openers, but didn't take that much damage. Moved into marine-tank vs marine-tank, Xeno outpositioned Polt, abusing the ledge behind the minerals at the natural and didn't let Polt abuse his.
On December 22 2014 08:41 pigmanbear wrote: How did Xenocider take game 1 ? Solid play, good tank positioning and complete denial of Polt's 3rd.

Masa 2-1 PandaBearMe
Masa plays Kelazhur, winner of that plays Scarlett

HuK 2-1 qxc
qxc eliminated, Huk plays violet

man all i see on this map is 2 rax in this matchup
another 2 Rax comes, lets see if this one works

that was just the highest quality rektage of a bunker rush ive ever seen. Hydra bringing the quality play!

But that wall man, 10/10
actually, why is 2 rax so popular on Merry Go Round? I mean, you'd think they'd play macro on a Terran-favored map
Great comeback by Hydra, Xeno just couldn't keep up with the multitasking
Xeno really let Hydra back into that game in a big way. I'm not sure why he didn't try to pressure earlier. He probably would've killed Hydra outright.
Hydra was one unfavorable trade from losing the sweep, but that Ling runby...
Sadly his TvZ needs some serious work. But still good showing so far from Xenocider.

That's a painful way to lose. Move command shouldn't be a thing in the game

I hope future tournaments are based on citizenship. Polt and Hydra would be the US representatives 99 out of 100 times. Boring. If Koreans are always going to represent us... can we at least pick which Koreans? Can I pick flash and stats? I can't imagine other gaming scenes being like this, yet being alive... If the game somehow grows and there becomes a seed for Argentina, I pick Zest...

As much as I feel that Polt at this point is a fully actualized American, it's still boring to see the same old faces make it out of these qualifiers. Hopefully the NA scene gets more competitive. It was a fun qualifier to watch though with Xenocider pulling out some nice games. Scarlett seriously seems to be slumping and is probably the zerg most affected by the widow mine change since patch.

Also she was only in Korea for like 24 hours. You can make jet lag johns that are probably reasonable but saying she leveled up over her stay in Korea and now came back down in the great white north is silly

she was in korea most of the year and she played pretty good 6:1polt and won redbull BG.3rd in HSCIX,4th in MLG beating LIFE. after she was back in canada few months early she start drop in her play. Edit:she left korea 20.8

I think he means that she's been in Canada mostly for a while now, aside from a few trips. And this sort of thing happened last year around this time, where she had a noticeable drop off in play. Hopefully she bounces back, but I'm not sure how many bounce-backs she has left in her.
