IMO nerf drops and fix the disparity from creep and Zerg attackmove.

Also well deserved by Life. I would go back in time and cheer for Taeja instead given how he dispatched MMA.

Needless to say, Life was amazing (and, uh, found a way). If mid-gaming it to the trophy is what it takes to take the trophy and upset the meta, then so be it.

Was kind of funny to hear the commentators keep doubting Life. While he obviously wasn't the favorite going into ro16, he's just one of those players that can win any tournament he enters. Happy to see him win this one! edit: Oh, and Life vs Taeja game 2 was amazing. That engagement at Life's 4th base where he got a big flank on Taeja's army was sick.

For whatever reason, Life's ling/bane attacks into large terran forces also seemed quite effective compared to the other zergs in the tournament (winner/hindsight bias? haha) - was it because he wasn't really facing an optimal lategame terran army? I kept cringing when he went for an attack against bio clumps, but somehow it usually worked out. Was cheering for Life (along with Polt), it was awesome seeing him pull through time after time! Overpowered memories of all the technical glitches, I now think of this as a flawless Blizzcon somehow.

![]() Bomber vs Life was the dream finals, but having one of them win makes me so happy. Way more exciting (for me) than last year

StarTale’s Lee Seung-hyun (Life) has won the World Championship Series (WCS) Global Final, crowning him as the best Starcraft 2 player in the world, an incredible achievement for a 17 year old born in 1997. Arriving at the somewhat low seed ranking of 14th out of 16 and playing as the often considered weak Zerg race, his victory lit up the arena with roars and wild excitement. Alongside his $100,000 prize money, Lee Seung-hyun (Life) also earned the title of the youngest WCS World Champion. Lee Seung-ho shared his thoughts at Blizzcon shortly after winning, “I can’t think of anything other than how incredibly happy I feel. I was able to win because my opponent moved in the way that I expected”. I suggested it was in fact his usual unconventional match style which helped him win, to which he replied “Even as I try to think now, I can’t think of any explanation other than I was just lucky. For instance, these days tactics like a Zergling/Baneling Rush aren’t used very often so opponents don’t expect it, and sometimes you can win.” He wasn’t without his own crises, however, and chose Team Liquid’s Yun ‘TaeJa’ Young-seo as the player he had the hardest time against. Additionally, the weak bodies of Zerg units were also a disadvantage. Lee Seung-hyun (Life) explained that it is because he overcame these two things that he was able to go straight to the final. All this leaves is the Korean stage, home to the best Starcraft 2 players in the world, and it is his goal to win a championship on it before the year ends. Lee said “This year I haven’t won even one championship in Korea, so I’ll try my hardest to definitely win one in the time left”. Team StarTale is often considered weak, but he didn’t forget to express his appreciation for them. Even though he doesn’t receive much support compared to other teams, he says he’s never thought of transferring. “I don’t think that the support I get from the team is lacking and I also receive personal sponsorship from Red Bull and SanDisk, so I have no desire to find another team.” Finally, I asked his thoughts on the public release of Legacy of the Void at Blizzcon. “Perhaps because it’s still in Beta, it felt unfinished. I believe there are still a lot more changes to come, but if you look from a Zerg point of view it seems like you couldn’t ask for more from the expansion. There are a lot of things to look forward to, like Roaches being able to evolve to destroy Force Fields, the increase in Ultralisk’s defensive power and the addition of the Lurker. For some reason, even though Legacy of the Void is for Protoss it seems better than Heart of the Swarm.”
