Unfortunately we didn't break 1000 for the event overall. I think we're at like 900 currently.

Though I feel really bad for herO (and I was cheering for him), and though this final was by many standards quite poor (though not by the series planning one, sOs played that really well), I still think it was something to try out once. And I think this is the reason for which we got so many awesome games in the bracket, but in the current metagame with a lot of protoss, that could also lead (and it did) to such a final. So I wouldn't call that a disaster, but rather an experience with its drawbacks and its advantages.

Because let's be honest. It's a shame, but if you want people to give it all, you got to put a lot of money on the table. Make it this "allin-ish", and you'll get some of the best SC2.

I'm totally not in favor of doing this often, though. Once a year could be a good frequency.

IEM cologne games were just as good imo and a better final. Players will try just as hard for 40k as for 100k.

This guy right here gets it. Huge diminishing returns on grand prize after a certain point and it's a far lower threshold than this.

<3

At least the Masterpiece theatre was just as awesome today, "90k for a PvP final, imagine if the real races were playing" really made me laugh out loud .

How incredible that sOs and herO managed to finish the finals faster than FireCake can finish a game.

sOs deserves the win but it was a terrible series to watch.

Also I hope ESL realizes winner takes all sucks now. All it does is make people feel extra bad for the loser.

lol what, triple bunker rush?

You don't know what you're speaking about.

First of all, it wasn't a mirror matchup and winner takes it all prize allocation.
Secondly, it requires more skill than proxy gates and dt rush.

How does bunker rush take more skill then proxy gate? You're right about the wta format though.

Bunker rushing strategies require good micro and knowing of timings to be effective. If proxy gate or dt rush wasn't scouted by the opponent, it's an auto win.

Nope. Ask parting

About what? Show me the VODs where Parting's opponent proxy gated / dt rushed, didn't get scouted and then proceed to lose the game. Or were you talking about putting SOUL into every all-in possible?

They were forced into dropping Dota, because of a tight pro teams' schedule.
