Thank you IEM for this stupid format The format is arguably what makes for these games though No. These games aren't good because of the format... yup, players will not play half-ass. they will fight to the death for 100K. love the gladiator aspect of this tournament. more bread and circuses, virtual circuses Did you watch IEM Cologne? Sick games and the format was different. The players make the games not the format. Thinking this "gladiator aspect" is doing this to the games is just stupid. i disagree. players will play their absolute best for 100K. no relax games, or full foreigner games will be at a minimal. it's good to see the audience will watch players play for something on the line. Like Poker This isn't the case tho. Players still try their best if the difference in winning was only 20K. If you think players are 'throwing' because it isn't a 100K tournament, I suggest you take a look at how much these players make. And there have been just as many 'throws' in this tournament as other with same caliber players. maybe you're right. but at least for me, i am watching this because of the intense nature of the tournament. Poker has the same effect as well. All or nothing. life or death. it becomes philosophical to a degree and that philosophy survive or perish resonates with me. Maybe that intensity will resonate with other people. I think players do their best when there are less prize money, but when something is on the line, you will see emotions come out like what naniwa did. crying, laughing, it will come out and i think that is good for the sport. that is the drama what? he only did what he did because he wanted to leave and not play the games lol. Had nothing to do with emotions XD I would say jjakji and his twitter is more of what you're aiming for. could be man, just my thoughts, it doesn't mean i'm right. no meaning for any kind of pontification at this point. I think Naniwa did get stressed out though, and his worst nature did come out. I still like Naniwa and hope he gets back on track though

Thank you IEM for this stupid format We got around 65k people watching + a lot of viewer at the event. I would say the number is not bad. nowhere near 100k... why does this matter? Because LoL and DOTA 2 get them ergo SC2 needs to be comparable or exceed the numbers otherwise it is a dead game. Except compared to the playerbase SC2 gets an enormous percentage of the playerbase that watches it's esport. LoL gets an extremely small number compared to playerbase probably around 1-3% compared to SC2 which is like 35--50% actually. DOTA 2 isn't anywhere near that either. And that is what shows how good of an e-sport the RTS genre is.

Team sports are always goingt to be bigger than individual sports atm That's probably the most flawed logic of all time. perhaps, but i'm just looking at sports and football is much bigger than tennis or ping pong or archery. collective sports seem to get much more support. and that makes sense to a degre4e That's a bit poor generalisation again, but I'll leave it at that
