Thank you IEM for this stupid format We got around 65k people watching + a lot of viewer at the event. I would say the number is not bad. nowhere near 100k... why does this matter? Because LoL and DOTA 2 get them ergo SC2 needs to be comparable or exceed the numbers otherwise it is a dead game. lol and dota are team sports. so just multiply SC2 numbers by 5, and that is the ratio SC2 should be judged by IMO. Team sports are always goingt to be bigger than individual sports atm Show nested quote +On March 16 2014 02:37 ArTiFaKs wrote:On March 16 2014 02:36 ThomasjServo wrote:On March 16 2014 02:35 BigFan wrote:On March 16 2014 02:30 sharkie wrote:On March 16 2014 02:29 Veldril wrote:On March 16 2014 02:27 sharkie wrote: This is probably one of the best tournaments (game-wise) of all time and we get no viewers

Except compared to the playerbase SC2 gets an enormous percentage of the playerbase that watches it's esport. LoL gets an extremely small number compared to playerbase probably around 1-3% compared to SC2 which is like 35--50% actually. DOTA 2 isn't anywhere near that either. I was being hyperbolic, didn't come across X___x
Lol no I caught it but was doubting if that was the case xD so I figured i'd say my part just incase it wasn't lol

Team sports are always goingt to be bigger than individual sports atm That's probably the most flawed logic of all time. perhaps, but i'm just looking at sports and football is much bigger than tennis or ping pong or archery. collective sports seem to get much more support. and that makes sense to a degre4e i think everyone agrees on that point. the point that you should multiply the streamnumbers by 5 pretty bad though, imo. just a wannabe analyst here, just making crazy ratios up. that's me, i'll own up to it. Not bad at least to explore my theory though

i love how with life games, if there's an attack at one base, there's probably at least 3 other fights or runbys happening elsewhere
