Meh HerO lost two in a row. He didn't play that badly at Dreamhack, lost 2-1. Sure he kinda got rolled at HSC but the previous series before that was a combined 7-0 for HerO in maps.
Oops the two series HerO won date back to 2012 haha Taeja is undefeated against HerO in 2013.

Protoss players need to stop being so defensive when people criticize Blizzard's choice of design. Majority of TLers already consider only balance at the top as the most important. Majority of balance criticisms don't apply to you or any other Protoss players on TL. It's kind of annoying to see Protoss players jump to defend poor design and play the victim.

This is pretty cool. Too bad this ain't happening soon as long as the state of the game is like this. Blizz has to this right or if it doesn't happen lets just hope the metagame shifts from raging to less frustrating.

There is a new feature in the GameHeart extension mod which makes some spell effects player-colored so you can more easily differentiate who cast what ability.

BM on ladder is ever present. I was getting BM from Z during brood/infestor era in WoL. I get BM from Protoss on ladder currently. I get BM from Terran. Even if things were balanced, BM'ers will BM.

Imo BM is part of online games. Dealing with it is a skill itself. If someone is playing P on ladder and gets BM'd, he could just apologize and it should be ok.

A lot of people build depots or turrets on that cliff. It is difficult of course but it is possible to avoid.

The second storm drop was sort of scouted. Innovation saw the warp prism with a marine and vikings. He needed to do something about that.

That specific cliff is a bitch, but you try to get highground vision or place a sensor turret, and also he didn't run his SCVs away at all. :/ Also pretty sure he saw one of the drops ahead of time.

This game just shows that the tradition of giving up when the game seems lost is completely wrong for competitive SC2. Obviously, Innovation couldn't have known that MC has no money for a probe, but he also couldn't have known that it is not the case - as long as there is some chance, he should have just flown a building into the corner. In most of the games, it doesn't help, but in this one, he would have a guaranteed tie.

Basetrade after a Blink 4-gate on killed 7 SCV and some add-ons. Innovation killed every probe and MC had no money left. Innovations main base was gone. It came down to Innovation holding off MCs 7 Stalkers with 1 Bunker and 4 Marines but he somehow decided that stopping repairing was a good idea.

I didn't watch the games so I can't say, but honestly I could see both of these things happening even aside from all of the cries of TvP Imba. Hero and Taeja have a rivalry that seems to go back and forth quite often and I could definitely see either player winning here, whereas with MC vs Innovation Innovation hasn't been looking incredibly well recently (not just in TvP but in TvT and significantly TvZ too, which was a matchup he single handedly made look extremely imbalanced) and MC has proven time and time again that he can come out of nowhere and make championship runs.
edit: On top of that MC has silently been a top performer for the past half a year.

Kinda-ish, HerO bought some time with warpins, forcing MC to either defend them first or go completely all in. It's hard to commit to a complete all in attack if you don't know exactly how big your opponent's army is/how he's positioned, etc.

I don't know that being ahead a single upgrade is an equalizer versus 4 colossus (while you have none and also no easy way to deal with them), but then again I don't play Protoss so you might be right. :s

An attack upgrade makes a huge difference but I'd take an upgrade disadvantage over 2 more tempests usually

If it was the difference was between 3 and 5 tempests that would be a bigger deal. The two extra tempests did help but I'm not sure if MC would've flat out won there

The thing is, a battle like that can drag out. If HerO's warpins do damage and MC attacks then he won't be able to reinforce well. So if HerO cleans up MCs army with his own reinforcements they're even in army and economy but HerO has the better tech coming out.

That's a fair point, certainly; mine was that 4 colossus can pretty much erase HerO's ground army (or at least the majority of it) in just a handful of volleys, and as such no upgrade advantage would matter. In which case, no matter how much damage HerO's harass would've done, MC could've then just straight up killed the 3rd until more Tempests/air got built.

MC plays a weird, midgame oriented playstyle. Continuously making voidray/immortal is super safe but you really have to hit some kind of midgame timing with it because it delays the rest of your tech a lot and both units aren't as useful the later the game goes, especially void rays. People don't usually do that. If MC had stuck to making just immortals, this bust might've worked wonders.

That's what MC does. He's kinda like the July of Protoss, in a way. Unless you're better than MC in every aspect of play (some players have managed to accomplish this at certain points, especially while he was slumping) then it's just something you have to take into account or you'll die.

That's HerO though, he harasses and keeps you pinned back all game while setting up tons of infrastructure to make the army he needs the second he sees you moving out. But it's a razorthin edge which is why he's so inconsistent
He plays a very zergesque style of protoss. It's beautiful to watch but it's extremely fragile and does NOT allow mistakes.

That's all well and good but he keeps moving out on the map and pressuring/attacking with armies that have no business being there. In addition he is never prepared for the inevitable counter push

MC sacrifices probe production after maxing out two bases, which gives him a period of superior army production. It means that if Hero makes a small mistake and loses some army supply then it can be enough for MC to make a kill move.

What I like about certain comps in PvP is you actually have time to engage and control well, FF and all that. With the exception being Collosus wars or massive void balls the battle usually lasts long enough for superior control to make a difference

I love the fact that there are a lot of different scenarios when it's good/bad to take a fight for tons of different reasons. Makes the game super dynamic.

It is heartbreaking. So the reason you don't root for HerO is because players like him cause heartbreak, and the reason you dislike him is because he is overrated. I can see that, seeing as I used to hate Scarlett because everytime she won everyone would freak out and her fanboys annoyed me. Then I thought about it and realized it wasn't the player I disliked, but the fans and casters who overhyped her.

I'm well aware it isn't the player I dislike, but I'm also aware that the more they lose the more bound the hype train is to peter out and quell. After all, there's nothing I can do against fanbois, you can't cure stupid. I'm not referring to the people in this thread for instance, but rather those who pretend like HerO's the second coming of Bisu (even though most of them have never watched Bisu play) even when he's performing horribly by any standard and would stand by him being the best Protoss in SC2 history. What can I do against those? Nothing, I can instead root for other players who I like more, for them to beat HerO, and for the morons to hopefully sod off and find something else to circlejerk about, something a little more rooted in reality perhaps.

Not that I'm trying to argue that HerO's current shape is #1 protoss level, but he has at many points throughout his career been able to make a very very good case for his being the protoss king pin.
Don't think I'd call that overrated... not even now, especially with him still making finals like this.
As an aside, I like my track record of calling future Protoss gosus ;d
1) Called MC as best protoss in the world a couple of months before he won his GSL and went on to dominate the year.
2) Called Huk's rise months in advance
3) Called HerO's rise months in advance
4) ... Called Sage's rise but so far I have been wrong on this one..... but I believe!!

Oh definitely, but again bearing in mind that some people seem to think he's some unbeatable god even when he's losing or getting eliminated early (like at Assembly) he is overrated in that sense. There were definitely points where he more or less was the best Protoss, but sadly he is a very shaky and streaky player and some people don't seem to want to accept that.
As for Sage, I know how it feels... I too rooted for him really hard when he started impressing, but as with other Protoss players (especially those on IM) the Artosis hype turned out to be a curse. D:
