I had to lock down a date weeks ago and consulted the TL calendar very carefully, originally i wanted the tournament to take place on the weekend of the 18th and 19th but there is ogaming.tv's nationwar happening at the time so i moved it to 25-26th not knowing MLG's tournament was going to take place at the same time. Upon realizing that i seriously considered postponing but it's just not possible with IEM Sao Polo taking place the next weekend and the players i have invited all being informed of the schedule i had originally given them.
I think that with all the Starcraft II streams/tournaments there has been a lot of people have got used of following 2 tournaments/streams at the same time, not to mention both tournaments offering VODS for those who want to focus on 1 and catchup on the other later, i'm hoping people will find the motivation to watch both tournaments so they can each have the success they deserve !

Tod I'm not pissed but you have Destiny and Catz on Skype, you could have given us the heads up after you saw that we announced. We spoke to Blizzard before hand, got a calendar of events, checked TL, and there was nothing.
In any case, good luck with the event.
You're right, i should have but i wasn't sure about the times you will be broadcasting at with the timezone difference, i have been spending all my time putting this tournament together and the rest of the time i tried to ladder as much as possible aswell as prepare myself for the upcoming tournaments i will have to cast.
Destiny tells me our times wont clash much anyway so hopefully all goes well
How do we create crossover?

I mean, there is no way the people involved were unaware of MLG's tournament, it being mentioned all over reddit, so why not talk to the organisers of MLG? Surely in the interest of giving people as many good shows as possible someone could have contacted MLG?
Otherwise will probably have both streams open
If you had actually read the tweets you would have seen that they planned the tournament and decided on the date when MLG had not announced their tournament yet.
I have read the tweets. Its been a few days since MLG announced the tournament. Surely the polite thing to do once you see the events will be overlapping would be sending a message letting them know, instead of leaving it the better part of the week and then blindsiding them with the annoucement.
People paying attention to other people in esports? NAH! Bubble world man.
Even though this event has a ridiculous line up I will probably end up watching MLG just because of time and when I am able to watch things. Will catch the VODs if I have time though. I know you are only supposed to contact blizzard if you event is over 10k or something but honestly if the player caliber is this high enough I feel like reaching out to them so other events know your event is happening would be a good idea.

Not very professional, just drama and asking for attention
Orrrr he has to chat with the guys helping him run the tournament if they maybe want to move the tournament around or change things? Yea not everything has to be drama
That doesn't mean you cant send a PM..logic is a good skill to have.
It would be pretty amazing if we could take something unfortunate and a source of potential drama and instead turn it into something cool and awesome. There's a first for everything.
